The RJ45 connecto is directly mounted on the motherboard. If you want to fix it you have to remove the motherboard and more likely replace it http://www.hexparts.com/HP-Pavilion-DV5000-DV5100-DV5200-DV8000-Series-Motherboard_p_25-351.html

Because removing a motherboard is a big and expensive job I will suggest you to buy a PCMCIA card similar to this one and you solve your problem quickly and at low cost. http://www.meritline.com/trendnet-32bit-gigabit-cardbus-pc-card.html

I hope this will help.

Is the jack attatched to the mainboard itself? Or is it connected via a wire to the motherboard?

If it's soldered directly to the motherboard, you may need to find a bad board to salvage one from. I have several at my shop, no from this model, but alot use the same jack styles.

Check eBay for a bad mainbaord being sold. Might be able to find one. Or you could always try Digi-key.com for components like this. Not sure of a part number. Need to know if its a surface mount type or the other.

No need to replace the mainboard over a phone jack. Just need to locate a useable replacement jack and solder it in there. Not sure of your soldering skills. I do this every day for a living, if you would like to have it fixed let me know.

Otherwise, locating one just means finding a damaged, useless mainboard to pull one from. Doesn't have to be an HP board, just has to have a matching phone jack.

Which wires on the Cat5 are connected to the WAN Port

Cat 5 is a cable configuration standard that uses a plug and jack that is similar to a modular phone jack called rj45. Those cables plug into multiple points on the router. If you have a separate cable modem, the cat 5 cable from the modem connects to the WAN port on the router.

Gateway Nv57h73u notebook jack issue check:
1) more common issue is changer ( ac adapter) DC core broken inside, please change a adapter to fix. also you can repair adapter DC core wire. if still no charging that could be DC jack issue inside notebook.
2) disassembly keyboard and top cover of your laptop looking for a wire it connect to the DC jack, check is the wire broken close to the jack soldering pot. you can soldering it to fix, or other issue is jack damaged, you can order and change the DC jack with wire easily, the parts see picture

Acer aspire one charging port loose

If I recall this model line uses a fixed DC power jack directly soldered to the main board. When they become loose, you can visually inspect the jack itself (without the cord plugged in), and use a pen or probe to see of the center peg is excessively loose. The common result is the solder connections have been broken between the DC jack and the main board. Often the jack itself needs to be replaced (involving complete disassemble, de-soldering old jack, cleaning, repair PCB if needed, and re-solder new jack in place.
TIP - if it is not charging, remove battery, and gently put pressure from different angles with the power cord plugged in, and try to turn it on. If it turns on with pressure from a specific angle, it would indicate the DC jack is indeed loose, and likely needs to be replaced. It works becomes the pressure is making the electrical contact that has other wise been broken. ALSO, if it turns on easily, yet losses power at certain angles, its a similar issue.
TIP2 - If it still indeed charges regardless of the angle, and does not lose power, it may be a "Modular" DC jack, meaning the jack connects to the main board through a wire harness, and is less prone to breaking the electrical contacts, and the jack is simply loose inside it's retaining clips/slides. Minor disassembly and hot glue are quick fixes for this since usually the plastic clip/slide in the chassis have broke.

GOOD LUCK! :)

My modem become wrong because i crack it, how can i do?

Modem for ADSL with RJ45 ports.
1. If your external modem and if it is broken/crack replaced it with a new unit.
2. If the modem is internal & the RJ45 port/jack is broken ie.built-in with a Laptop/notebook, you can buy a external USB modem.

Hope it helps.

Ac adapter connection is worn out, can it be fixed

The AC adapter jack on the back of this notebook (and many others) is susceptible to damage. Extra care must be observed whenever moving / sliding or lift up and setting the notebook down while the AC adapter plug is connected to the jack. Any force on the plug - be it left, right up or down can cause the jack's soldered connections to break free from the motherboard inside the case. Once this happens, the internal battery will no longer receive a charge and when depleted, the notebook will not start up. A way to check if this condition is present is to gently wiggle the plug while connected to the jack. Pay attention to any AC Power indicator light on the notebook. If it flickers, the connection is failing or failed.

This common failure is repairable, but it is not for the faint of heart. The disassembly of the notebook is required. Patience and jeweler's screw drivers (and sometimes other specialty tools and instruction guides) may be required just to open the case. Once opened, a thorough inspection of the jack's solder connections and circuit traces must be performed to identify problem points. This may require further disassembly of components. Inspect both sides of the motherboard for damage. It may be possible to simply "touch up" the broken connections with a clean, tinned 20 or 30 watt pencil soldering iron. A complete replacement of the jack is a better way to go though. The jacks are under $10 on eBay but this work is not for a DIYer that isn't willing to have the notebook reduced to the status of "paper weight". There are those on eBay that offer to perform the entire repair for about $100 when last checked, and is probably a better bet than DIY first time soldering application. Of course, the notebook manufacturer has the ultimate repair shop - but is probably ultimate in cost, too.

Headphones plug not working right. can hear only from one, even if connectec to speakers

That is a common problem with Mp3 players - unfortunately, no one that I know of yet has been successful in repairing this issue, b/c the manufacturers do not sell the component parts. I'm afraid this Mp3 player will have to be replaced, even though only the headphone jack and associated circuit are bad.

Broken Power Pin

Your model has a power jack that is soldered to the mainboard.

Yes, this is a common problem with a lot of notebooks. It usually happens when someone walks by and trips on the power wire and pulls the notebook off the desk / table and onto the floor.

Unless you're comfortable with taking it apart, and good with a soldering iron, you should take it to a repair shop.

If you ARE comfortable with doing so, the power jack can be purchased from several suppliers on Ebay, for about $12 including shipping. Just do a search for "aspire 3680 jack" and you will see them.

PS: Most shops charge $100-$150 to replace the jack.

How can I fix the loose power jack?

The last 2 screws to separate top from bottom are located ynder the 3/8" wide clip on plastic piece above your function buttons. Center screw and right hand side. Be careful of ribbons, plug-ins and wires that attach to both sides. I strongley suggest not doing this if you are not mechanically inclined. You could very easily cause damage to your laptop.
