Question about HP OfficeJet G85 All-In-One InkJet Printer
My status window shows "remove and check color cartridge". I've done that, cleaned everything and turned the printer off and on. The message will not go away.
Just had the same problem on my G85. Did the cleaning of color contacts, the powering on and off, and the cleaning and aligning of heads to no avail. Last resort went to HP website (why is that always last resort?) and saw that sometimes the circuits confuse color and black cartridge problems. Cleaned black cartridge - problem cleared. Coincidence? Maybe. But maybe not.

This also happend to me and the thing almost got office spaced out in a field,but i have the answer.
All you have to do when it gives you that check cartridge message is go ahead and hit black like a normal copy it may say busy thats fine the message will not go away just yet and copier will look unresponsive but it just takes like 5-10 min but will eventualy fix its self the copy will spit out and every thing will go back to normal,so dont cancel or turn off power patience grass hoppa it will be ok i promise
