I recently got the iPad 15 Air, and I'm excited about its features. However, I'm curious to know if there are any hidden tips or tricks that users have discovered to enhance the overall experience..

Multitasking
take advantage of split screen multitasking to use two apps simultaneously. Swipe from the right edge of the screen to open the dock, then drag an app to the left or right side of the screen.

I have a iPad Pro and my screen has changed from a full screen to one that us 1/2 full what is my problem

How to Turn Off Split Screen on iPad Split View is enabled by default on the iPad. To utilize the feature, you can drag an app from your dock to the right or left edge of your screen to open the app on a portion of the screen. If you have multiple apps open and want to close one without turning off the Split Screen or Multitasking functions in settings, you can return to a full-screen view of a single app by dragging the edge of the app you want to remove to the edge of the screen.

If, however, by "getting rid of split screen on iPad" you mean turning the feature off completely, that's something you can do in Settings. To turn off split screen on the iPad:
  • Open the Settings app on your iPad.
  • Tap General.
  • Select Multitasking & Dock.
  • Toggle off Allow Multiple Apps.
How to Get Rid of Split Screen in Safari on iPad Using split screen in Safari on iPad was a new multitasking feature for iOS 10 that continues in iOS 12. This allows you to open two separate Safari web pages simultaneously on your iPad. To start, open Safari on the iPad. You can then open a second Safari tab in split screen in one of four ways:
  • Tap and hold a link; select Open in Split View.
  • Tap Command+N on an external hardware keyboard to invoke Split View.
  • Drag a tab from its space to either the left or right side of the screen to open it in split screen.
  • Tap and hold the icon that opens your tabs view in Safari. It looks like two overlapping squares. When you tap and hold, options will pop-up. Select Open Split View.
But what if you want to get rid of split screen in Safari? What if you're done using the two tabs-how do you turn split screen on the iPad off? To close split screen in Safari on your iPad, you can do one of the following things:
  • Drag the tab(s) from one of the screens to the other. Once the last tab has been dragged to the opposite side, Safari will return to full screen, which will turn off split screen.
  • Or, you can tap and hold the tabs icon, which looks like two overlapping squares. Then select Merge All Tabs. This will merge all your Safari tabs back into a single window, which gets rid of split screen.

Why does the home page on my iPad Mini go in and out when I am trying to do something?

It's possible that your accidental touches are triggering actions on your touchscreen. Read http://osxdaily.com/2013/01/22/multitouch-gestures-ipad/ for an explanation of many of the "hidden" commands that you can make.

The most common and simple command, a double-touch on the screen, zooms the image to almost double size.

I can't open the zynga poker now what caused this it has done the sme thing too my candy crush this all happened. After I got my last up date

Try closing all apps then restarting the iPad. To do this, double-tap the home button to bring up multitasking, then swipe each app up to close it. Once all of your apps are closed, turn your iPad off then back on again. This will fix the crashing problem.

Try with enabled gestures in general settings:
In apps where you can navigate from side to side, such as Photos or iBooks, you need to use the swipe.Using one finger, lightly run your finger across the screen from one side to the other and you can navigate from page to page in one simple motion. get-back-full-screen-instead-having-2-u3wnnnxjlb3ct0ebur4t0xqn-1-0.jpg

Ever since I downloaded Apple's latest iPad update my orientation lock has become a mute lock and I can't stop my orientation from moving. Any ideas?

In order to use orientation lock with the new update:
  1. Double-click the iPad's home button, bringing up the multitasking menu with all programs you are currently running.
  2. Swipe your finger to the left while in the multitasking area.
  3. The orientation lock is now controlled through a software feature rather than the physical mute button.
  4. Tap the orientation lock icon (circular arrow furthest to the left) to engage it.
  5. In this menu you can also quickly change brightness settings and music controls.
A new feature rumored in iOS 4.3 (the next iOS iteration) will allow for the iPad's user to set whether the physical button controls orientation, or act as a mute switch.
