Peg Perego 800 Twin ATV - Only runs for 10 - 15 minutes at a time

Bought this 24 volt ATV for my 5 year old son. He rode it a few times and it worked fine. I charge the battery after each use for a minimum of 12 hours. Now when he rides it only runs for 10 - 15 minutes and it seems like the battery needs to be charged. I had him try it again the next day, but I did not charge the battery. Again it ran for 10 - 15 minutes. It seems to me that it is not the battery but some sort of electrical or connection problem. I have went an email to Peg Perego and have responded to their questions. Still waiting for a response.

The polaris 800's have a known issue with the thermal switches over heating, then they cut out after 10 minutes then after you wait about 5 minutes they come back on. Peg perego has a replacement kit with contains a new circuit board, thermals switches and two new 350 watt motors, I personally have replaced about 15 of them, its a pretty simple process

My sons 800 sportsman twin runs for a few minutes and stops. after waiting for a bit it runs again and starts all aover again

The Peg Perego sportsman twin 800's are overheating the protection module. After it cools, it works again. They know about the problem and admitted it. Under warranty they just shipped me a new poly switch, a new mainboard and TWO new motors WITH gearboxes for free. (Mines 6 months old). Working on installing the parts now. It is NOT a battery problem but something to do with the 24 volt motors overloading the electrical system.

My son has a 700 twin sportsman peg-perego four wheeler. Weve charged thae battery . But when we hook it up the four wheeler will only go really slow as if the battery is dying or dead. Does it need a new...

check the battery with a multimeter and see if its showing 12 volts or more, if it is showing volts but not 12 or more then put it on the charger for about 8 hours, then check the battery again if it still hasn't went up check the voltage of the charger with the multimeter and make sure that the charger is putting out 13.8 volts or more, iif it isn't then you need a new charger, if it is then you need a new battery

Peg pregeo 800 worked for 30 mins. then just stopped.

Although the problem is not the exact same, it is similar. I finally got mine fixed (see post about does not work when pedal is pushed) My problem was the shifter was bad, or the plug for the shifter was bad. I had to take to Rural King to get it fixed, PP service locations are too far away from me .. hope this helps some.
