I have the exact same problem. It says there is a jam, but there is not and the ink cartridges slam against the sides of the printer.

There is a high possibility of something stuck in the interior of the printer.Take a flashlight and check the paperfeed area for anything that is obstructing the roller movement(you can hear for the sound of the rollers for this)Then turn off the printer gently tilt it such that the paper feed thing is facing downwards and gently shake the printer..If nothing comes out open the side and top panels of the printer so that you can have a good view of the paper feed area..
PS:Deskjets are panels are pretty easy to dismantle..You can let me know if you need help or refer your manual..
Good luck!

Hi,
Remove the jammed paper. Unplug the printer from the mains and PC. Inspect the rollers, etc for tiny paper piece(s) that may be stuck, or other debris. Try to clean rollers and make sure they are dry.
Keep printer unplugged for about 2 minutes and replug and try a test print.
Also make sure that you have waited long enough for the printer to heat up before giving a print job.
Finally, it could be an issue with the paper sensor. If this is the case, you will probably have to take the printer in for servicing..

Hope that helps!

Thanks

HP deskjet F380 - 'status: paper jam'. There is no paper jam!

Unplug the power cord and while doing that make sure printer is powered on i mean do not turn off the printer using the power button. When you unplug the power cord than press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Than release the power button and connect the power cord and then try to print.

Hp Deskjet F380 all in one printer gives messege paper Jam but...

Restart the spooler.
You have to do this even if it simply runs out of paper.
Its rubbish at sorting its self out.
It even complains you have no ink when you put in a full re-manufactured one!

F380 deskjet - error - refuses to pront

I have this printer with the same problem , worked fine for 1 year, printed over 1600 pages total ( according to the built in HP program that records how many pages I printed and how many times I used the printer) then it stopped printing. The ink cartridges are new, the software is fine, and it says ink levels are good. It physically goes through the motions of printing, loads the paper, makes all the normal sounds it used to and pushes out the paper when it's done - but the page is blank. I did some surfing and read some info that some HP printers are pre-programmed to stop certain functions so you buy a new printer. I know that might sound crazy. How long have you had the printer and how many pages do you think you printed?
