Hi ettaesque...
Remove the songs the easy way...follow the instruction below:

Deleting Files,Pictures,Videos,Audio
Books, Apps,etc. from MP3 Player/Ipod
------------------------------------------------------------------------
BIG WARNING: DO NOT DELETE THE FILES NEEDED TO OPERATE YOUR MP3 PLAYER.
Hook up your mp3 player to your computer
Go to your desktop and double left click on "My Computer"
When it opens you will see listing that says "Devices with Removal Storage" your mp3 player should be listed there.
Right click on your mp3 player, and a window will open, right click on "Open" and now your files/songs should be visible.
Hold the left click down and drag it across all the files/songs that you do not want this will highlight the files/songs you do not want, release,right click and then click on "Delete"
Now you mp3 player should be clear of the files/songs you do not want.
ONE MORE BIG WARNING: BE CAREFUL AND DO NOT DELETE THE FILES NEEDED TO OPERATE YOUR MP3 PLAYER.

are you plugging it in to your computer or a usb hub? if one of those is what you are using and it doesn't work, then try the other. if neither of those work, I would suggest using the Polaroid support line: 1-877-768-8483. Mon-Thurs 9AM-5PM and Fri 9AM-3PM. (Eastern Standard Time)

I need software fo a 4GB Polaroid PMP 287c-4 MP3 PLAYER

No drivers needed for most computer operating systems. To view, add and remove files from the PMP283C-4, just plug it in to a PC using the USB data cable and look under My Computer for "MP3" or "Removable Disk".

My polaroid pmp 350-4 is basically a paperweight. it wont turn on. My computer does not recognize it. What can I do? I only used it for 2 months.

I just bought a used one online and at first thought that it was broken. I looked at the manual and at first was frustrated. Then I first just plugged the unit in my computer and it lit up and charged...that gave me hope!
