Bad news, it appears unit is short on gas leak,,,,,Because of this the temp. sensing device over reacts causing the frig to constantly run,,,,also poor door seals do not help,,,,due to costing of repair its better to replace the unit. Water thing bit of a mystery,,,,,could be blocked defrost drain,,,,refrig section of cooler section and just below this is a small drain hole of some description, get a tube or straw and blow down this to clear blockage,,,,,difficult without seeing but hope to be of help,,,,,,,,,,,,,Barry

Electrolux ETE 4200 SB-R freeze fridge. freezer cold, but fridge wont cool. back of the unit sealed with only compressor (?) visible at bottom. Cant check fans, coils etc. Cheers Gary

That is not a good model number. Is it a top mount freezer or side by side? Generally in electrolux the freezer is what cooks the fridge, if fridge is not cooling, it could be several things causing it.
1. Damper not opening
2. Damper has ice build up
3. The return has ice build up
4. The freezer evap assembly is not defrosting to allow air flow.
5. The evap fan is not turning.

MAKE SURE THE FAN IN THE FREEZER IS RUNNING THATS THE ONLY WAY THE REFRIGERATOR STAYS COLD DO YOU HAVE AN ICEMAKER IF YOU DO IS IT WORKING OR A DEFROST PROBLEM ANY ICE OR FROST BUILD UP IN THE FREEZER
IF YOU SEE IT ON THE WALLS ITS FULL BEHIND THE WALLS OF THE FREEZER

Kenmore classic bottom freezer refrigeration warm but freezer is cold

I would guess you have just caused a build up of ice to block the air way, which normally takes cold air into the fridge. manually defrost (unplug and wait until the ice goes away) then restart and it should be fine

Freezer is freezing up.

Is the fridge getting warmer at the same time? How cold/warm do you have the adjustment set? Have you removed the far rear panel of the freezer? Behind the far panel you will see the defroster unit. Make sure it is not frozen up or that could be the defrost heater or timer may be bad. There is also a vent that goes from freezer to fridge, ice can build up in there and cause the majority of the air to stay in the feezer, you should clean out the blockage. I use coat hangers and screwdrivers myself to break all the ice free.

I purchased a bottom freezer Amana refrigerator when we built our house in 1999. The produce in the vegetable drawer keeps freezing! Everything else in the fridge is fine. Why does this happen?

Usually on bottom freezer fridges, there are two vents at the bottom of the freezer compartment where the cold air goes back into the freezer (cold air enters the fridge through the vent at the top/back of the fridge.)

If the vents at the back of the fridge are covered, the cold air will settle to the bottom of the fridge after it enters, and freeze your vegetables. The problem could be caused by ice build up in the evaporator coil of the freezer section also, but this will probably warrant a checkup from a pro.

One thing that can cause ice to build up inside those vents is moist air seeping in through a faulty door gasket. A thin coat of ordinary Vaseline on the gasket surface can help it make a better seal.

need to check for ice build up in air vent. if not make sure you hear your evap fan blowing in the freezer section. this blows your cold air into the fresh food side. do you have ice build up on rear wall of freezer section?

Freezer cold but not fridge

too much ice bulid up will stop enough cold air being blown into the fridge.Try turning it off letting all ice melt then turn it back on again and set thermostat at a lower temp. There may be ice you can't see.
