Music speeds up,skips pulsating noise

My answer here only concerns if you're trying to play burned audio CDs. Burn your audio CDs at the lowest speed (1). Try the JVC/Taiyo Yuden brand.

According to the manual, which can be found online here: http://www.radioshack.com/graphics/uc/rsk/Support/ProductManuals/55041503_PM_EN.pdf, once you start a song using the Play button, you can immediately press the Next button to skip to the next song. It appears that the next button is the right button on the control pad.
Here is the layout of the control pad, from what I can determine online: Play/Pause Previous Next Volume

replace the spindle motor. the motor's speed varies while playing cds and a worn motor will not keep to the correct speed for playback of certain tracks on various points of the disc and will cause skipping and even stop altogether.

The laser beam may be "seeing" through dust, try compressed air in a can. Buy at computer stores. Make sure all discs are clean, wipe only in straight lines from center outward....

First, I'd get a CD recorder. This machine is only a player.

Consumer CD Recorders will require CD-R Audio or CD-R Music blank media to record.

Try cleaning the optical pickup, if it doesn't work you'll need to replace the pickup.

It's got a deffective laser assembly. You know the whole mechanism with little circuits where the laser diode is sitting on, and slides back and fort. There is also a ribbon attached to it which connects it to the main circuitboard. That ribbon could also be the culprit. All in all this problem is too complicated for the do it yourself person.

It is clear symptoms of bad optical laser or dirty optical lens.
Please put lens cleaning CD in player, play that CD to clean dust on optical lens surface. If that helps, fine or replace optical laser block in player.
I can provide you optical lens part number, please confirm is it Sony CDP-CX153 cd player or any other model.

Take the small back cover off and take some electrical grade contact cleaner and spray all around the lens area, that worked for me.
