Is the garage remote infra red or radio? Does the universal remote support both modes of operation?
If it's infra red then simply follow the programming instructions for the universal as normal. If RF then you may need another type of universal remote control that supports RF modes
hello, your DVD did come with a manual I guess.Talking about universal remote,I think it comes with a manual. You can request for a new universal remote control with a manual that contains the code of the device you are using. If not you could also buy the appropriate remote control for your device at an electronic store where they sell elect products, or better still, buy the remote from the place you bought your device. if you experience anymore problems operating your device pls feel free to let me know. Thanks.
Below are links to all the GE remotes. I am sorry I could not give you the one for your remote but you didn't include the model #. They are in .pdf format so you will need the Adobe reader if you don't already have it. If not the last link is for that.
Hope this helps but if not let me know.
If you have any trouble with the links not working when you click them just cut and paste them into your address bar
Universal remote controls come with user manual and the additional code list which you can find the list of devices that can be used with the remote control, It depends on the remote control model that you have, each model has own specific quantity of supported devices and codes. If you are able to provide exact model of your Universal remote control we can check for you, Or simply you can search online <universal remote control model> + code
Our experience is that most "Universal" remotes do not support the menus used to adjust Akai product. I don't know who the US distributers of Akai are but if the original remote is still available this is usually the best way to access the menus & adjust the set. Some operating instructions may be available as PDF files online & it might be worth searching for them to get the best results.
