Bowed picture all sides

Is it one color that has moved? Sounds like a convergence problem. Find a channel with a fixed picture, or if you have digital cable or satellite pull up a guide, something with a straight line across the screen. You will likely see one of the colors is bowed or or shifted. You may be able to adjust that with your remote under the "convergence" adjustments in the menu. If it will not adjust it will need work done to the convergence circuit. Not a DIY project.

Only on newer TV's, yours (I dont think)has the adjustment, if it does it would be in the menu area.

Look at it on the QVC channel where you have boxes with straight lines. If any of the 3 colors are bowed and 1 inch off, then it needs parts inside. If the colors are straight and only 1/4 inch off, you can adjust it. Using the remote, in the menus find convergence to adjust. Your user manual will explain it. As long a the picture is not bowed you may have a convergence module bad or have to enter convergence service menu to adjust If bowed at all the convergence ic's are bad or just a resistor in the convergence circuit is out of its value. These are possibilities but it still could be the ic's

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

SOLUTION

You will need to replace the convergence chips and possibly some convergence resistors and pico fuses. Its a fairly easy DIY job or you can call in a pro. If you want to do the repair yourself check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. Their kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, thermal paste, email/phone support, etc.

Sounds like the blue convergence circuit still not working.

Assuming both IC's are good, look for open soldered-in pico fuse.

Once bowing problem is solved,then convergence should adjust ok.
