My vx5300 was turned off, in my pack when my canoe went underwater for about 4 hours. even after this tragedy, it worked well after i dried it out for a couple days, untill a screen that says: USE GENUINE BATTERY- POWER OFF-. i bought a brand new battery, and after working for a day, the same thing began happening. is there any way i can save my phone?
You can take the battery and the back off the device and place in completely submerged in a bag of white rice and leave it in there for 1 to 2 days this will help absorb the moisture, this should fix it if the water did not damage the circut boards if the water damaged the circut boards then the device is fried

Do you mean water softener, that's the brine water, there obviously is an interruption when you were doing a clean out, not supposed to have that much water, and do not place your arm or anything in that salt brine water, without protection if you are deciding to bail the water out, it can get stagment in hours and just trust me don't put your arm in that salty water, not good, pull out the owners manual and turn on all the cleaning options for the unit, it sometimes takes up to 4 hours or so, to clean let it do its job and walk away from it, check it in a few hours, sometimes you don't have to fix it if it isn't broken, thanks good luck.
The cloudy spots tell me that water has entered the camera, this will be a very costly repair. you might be better off just replacing the camera as it will be cheaper than the repair bill on yours.
probably the camcorder wasn't meant to be underwater or a underwater camcorder can only function properly during a certain depth you go in the water.. but if you go over the limit of the depth you went underwater it would shut down and not come back to function properly.
Power pack wattage has to match bulb wattage, or it shortens life of power pack. I don't know physics and electrical engineering enough to know why this happens. Also when working on bulbs, manual says to unplug power pack so it doesn't burn up. If bulb is under water that's fine, but wiring cannot be underwater where it shorts out, or suspect this action might also shorten life of power pack. With receipt, power pack could still be under warranty.
Well-made aluminum canoes are rugged and most dents can be punched out. They are the ultimate no-maintenance canoe. Even when left outdoors all year, neither rain nor snow affects them and they will not take on weight with age. They are rigged with flotation air tanks or foam compartments to render them unsinkable. On the downside, aluminum canoes are noisy, tend to cling to (rather than glide over) rocks, and conduct heat and cold. Most aluminum canoes carry their beam well forward and aft so that they push rather than cut through the water. This hull design, however, makes them initially more stable and increases their carrying capacity.
Unfortunately it sounds like the screen or it's comtroller were damaged. Anytime electronics are dropped in water they should be turned off immediatly and left to dry out. Put in a container with a water absorber (rice, baking soda, dehydrator pack). Even then there is a strong likelihood that it's not going to work.
Triwing security screwdrivers can be purchased in a security screwdrivers pack or individually on Amazon or ebay.
When electronics get wet, they MUST be taken apart as soon as possible and dried out. It probably has some wet areas inside that may have fried some connections. Water or corrosion by the water have short circuited something inside. There is still hope I hope to either take it apart and inspect and clean the corrosion off of all electronics or take it to an electronics shop and get them to do it.
I had the 33WR last year, and opened it up. My subjective opinion is that it cannot withstand the pressure underwater. Someone tried it and water got in.
