I baught an Alpine IVA W205 and was hoping you would know how I could bypass the parking brake in order to watch the dvd player while on the road. How would I go about doing this?     its a nissan maxime 2003 and i have a alpine iva-w205 system, tryinhg to figure out how to plug it in the watch videos with a switch for on and off, jut not sure how to plug it in

What make and model of vehicle is this stereo installed in? Did you install it yourself?

    yellow/blue wire is the wire from the unit to the parking break. If you use a switch. Yellow/blue wire must be grounded in order to use the unit. Yellow/blue wire will go to one side of switch and grond to other side of switch.

I bought my dodge ram 2008 and it came with the truck. Radio and DVD and CD work great its when I try to connect to Bluetooth or navigate it shuts down. I can connect but I don't know the passcode which is 4 digits. Tried 1234 and 0000 is didn't work. Pls help someone. Thank you..

Sometimes they have a setting on video head units that only allows you to play video when the parking brake is on, try that and see if it works.

put a switch on the brake wire make sure the switch is on the off position. the switch should have two wires ,one wire connects to the brake wire the next wire ground it to the car .then turn on the stereo put a dvd in and turn the swicth on and off several times .It should come on

How do I watch videos in drive in 1996 cadillac deville
Nice car. I have a 96 Deville also and i'm installing the same radio in it in about 2 days. there are two options to bypassing the video lockout:you can either buy the PAC TR-7 bypass cable which costs around 20 bucks on sonicelectronix.com or you can wire the parking break wire to a toggle switch and ground a wire from the neg end of the toggle switch.The PAC controller is way more convenient because you dont have to flip the toggle switch 3 times everytime you get in the car.I hope this helped

Parking Brake
If it is a GMC Canyon, then the wire is light blue at the brake pedal harness. Be sure to test this wire before connecting as this wire will test 12V+ when the pedal is pushed in. The parking brake wire is also light blue and can be found at the parking brake switch. Peripheral electronics makes a box called a PTR-7 which can be connected to the alpine and serves the purpose of the brake connections for the video bypassing of the unit. Hope this helps.

you need to make sure that you have the TR-7 or that the parking brake and foot brake wires are hooked up. with out them there will be no picture or menu.
