I bought a grass strimmer glc1825n in 2015 the first battery would not hold a charge I purchased a second battery that is not holding a charge I only have a small lawn so it is not used for long ?

Unfortunately your cutter is using Ni Cad batteries, the cannot be left on charger any longer that it takes to full charge. Laving them on will damage battery and they develop a memory and that is where they will charge to. No magic mouse milk is available, replace cutter with one that use lithium ion batteries. Less wight quicker charge don;t slow down as it gets low, it will run full speed and then stop. good Luck

Why your phone won't charge

Hello,

there are three or more reason why your your phone won't charge;

1. The charger might be defective.
2. The charging port of the phone might be defective.
3. The battery cell might be very weak or the battery might be defective.

Charger

A defective charge can cause a phone not to charge. To actually find out if your charger is defective or not, borrow a charger from a family or friend that has the type of your phone, use the borrowed charger to on your phone. If the the phone charges, then obviously, your charger is defective and need to be replaced. It is also good to test your charger on another phone to confirm the status of the charger.

Make sure you run the above test, before buying another charger so that you don't waste your money. Sometimes, charger might be working and phone won't charge due to some other reasons that would be discussed below. So confirm first before buying another charge. Don't buy another charged based on assumptions........

Battery

A battery that is very flat, I mean a battery that its cell is very weak, won't charge with a phone charger. You might have to leave the battery in the phone with the charge plugged in for some minutes or hours before the battery will begin to charge and other times, it might not charge at all.

What make batteries to be in this kind of condition is;

1. If you use you phone to the point when it says "low battery" and you still don't charge the battery and the phone turns off by itself. This can run down a battery cell.
2. If you leave a battery in the phone idle for a days or months, the battery cell will become weak. Or if you leave a battery used for days or months.
3. If you don't use the correct/right charger for your phone, this can drain the battery instead of charging it.

Batteries in such condition will have to be fast charged with a desktop charger. The desktop charger will be connected directly to the battery and the battery will definitely pick up within 1 hour. Thereafter, you can continue charging it with your phone charger and it will charge immediately.

But if the battery is defective, it won't charge at all. Even if you use a desktop charger. Such batteries needs to be replaced. Also, it is good to test the phone with another battery, and charge it to confirm before buying another battery.

Below is a picture of what a desktop charger looks like;

Charging port

If non of the above seems to be the reason why your phone won't charger, then it means the charging port is defective.

Most times defective charging port confuses people. They think the charger is the reason why their phone won't charge and after using another charger on their phone they still find out that the does still does not charge.

Once your phone doesn't charge, the first this you test is the charger and second, the battery. But if the battery and charger seems not to be the cause of the problem, then it is the charging port that is cause the problem.

Your charging port might not be defective, maybe it loosed contact with the phone phone or it shifted from it's position. Sometimes, the way we forcefully insert our charger into the phone can make the charging port loose contact.

At this point, you will have to disassemble your phone. But if you feel it is a task you cannot perform yourself, then take the phone to a repairman to help you out. But if you feel you can do it yourself (DIY), read further.

Turn off the phone. Remove the battery. After that, get a phone screw driver, unscrew all the phone screws, remove the phone cover in order to gain access to the phone panel and get to the charging port.

Check if the charging port actually loosed contact. If it didn't loose contact, then you will have to replace the charging port.

Note that some charging port are soldered to the phone board and some are not. So if yours is not soldered, simply remove the charging port and make a replacement. But if is soldered, you will be needing a rework station. Rework station is what you will use to remove the charging port.

Below is a picture of what the rework station looks like;

I hope the above makes sense to you.......

Good luck.

NI-MH D 14.4V 8000mAh Charger Hack. I need an alternative charger like charging on a car battery?

NI-MH batteries a re very different than car batteries and even tho voltage may be similar, you risk destroying your battery, camera or worse, an explosion. Your batter may only need a limited amount of amperage to charge (likely not much more than 1500ma or 1.5 amp) a car battery charger may put out twice or even ten times that much - hence the explosion risk! Also these kind of chargers detect when your battery is full and will quit charging or switch to a maintenance mode. I'm afraid you're pretty much stuck with using the charger meant for it.

CAN YOU LEAVE A RECHARGEABLE BATTERY FOR A 19.2 VOLT CRAFTSMAN CORDLESS DRILL IN THE CHARGER ALL THE TIME/

It depends on the charger taht comes with this drill, the dumb charger will just keep on charging the batteries even when it if fully charge and does not sop, which will be bad for the batteries, the smart charger (more expensive and has electronics inside the charger) will go into floating charge when the batteries are fully charge which will prevent the batteries from being overcharged. If in doubt, remove it from the charger after overnight charging.

Battery will not charge

If your battery does not seem to charge, then you need to carry out some tests on the device, the battery and the charger. First you insert the battery into another cam corder then you try to charge, if it charges, then it means the battery is okay and if it does not charge, then it means the battery is bad and need to be replaced.
Then i will advice you take the charger and try to charge another device to see if it will work, if it works, then it means the charger is alright but if it does not then it means the charger is bad and need to be replaced.
Finally, test the camcorder by plugging a well tested charger and battery into it and trying to charge it, if it does not charge then the problem is from the camcorder.

Why doesn't my htc phone charge while plug in?

First, you need to check to see if the problem is with the phone - the battery - or the charger.

If you have a car charger, try to charge the phone with it. If it works, you'll need to replace your home charger.

If the car charger doesn't charge the phone - you'll either need to replace the phones battery or your home charger. (Sometimes the battery will go bad if you use a car charger not made specifically for the phone.)

If you replace your battery and it still doesn't charge you'll need to replace your home charger.

If after you've replaced the battery and the home charger and it still doesn't charge - your problem is with the phone and it will either need to be replaced or repaired.

The radio is not charging has new battery

Check your battery contacts on/in the radio, battery and charger. Clean with a pencil eraser if needed. If your charger will accommodate the battery alone, try charging the battery outside the radio. Does the charger's light (if any) come on and stay on when the battery/radio is attached? If so, your charger is working properly. If the light (if any) on the charger is flashing you may have a shorted or bad battery. Check your user guide to the radio/charger for more information. Finally, periodically a battery has too low of an initial factory charger to start charging on the charge immediately. Try placing the battery on the charger for 3 complete charge cycles, and see if it will then charge. If the battery is new, you might want to contact the vendor for a replacement.

Motorola CP040 charging time

The rapid rate charger WPLN41__ will typically charge a battery in 90-120 minutes. Your battery should be depleted or nearly depleted when you place it in the charging stand. Be certain your radio is always turned off, when charging an attached battery. The NiMH battery will generally go 12-16 hours on a charge when new. If you work an eight hour shift, you might see if the radio will go 2 days on a charge. Later as the battery ages, you will need to charge it nightly. (Think of putting it in the charger as putting it to bed at night.)

Rapid charging is necessary on NiMH and Li-Ion batteries. They require a "hotter" charger, a fast rate, to completely charge the battery. It will not harm this chemistry of battery. It is safe to leave the battery on the charger overnight, or for a weekend. We would not recommend leaving the battery on the charger longer periods of time, as that will age the battery and reduce its life.

(Sidenote: Frequent rapid charging will however reduce the life of a NiCD battery.)

Motorola talkabout t5700

No, the charger is only usable to charge the rechargeable NiMH or Li-Ion battery which comes with the radio. Attempting to charge Alkaline rechargeable batteries with this charger could cause the to expode. If your charger is not charging the batteries which came with the units, it could be you do not have the charger cord end plugged in all the way, or the batteries dropped below the initial charge level by setting on a store shelf too long. Most TalkAbouts come with a cradle style charger to hold the radio, and a possible plug to plug into the charge hole. Check all connections, and clean any battery/charger contacts with a pencil eraser. To re-initialize the batteries you would need to attempt 3-5 charge cycles by charging for 8-10 hours, then letting the battery rest for 8-10 hours, repeating 3-5 times as needed. If this does not bring the battery back to life, you need to replace the batteries.
