Our SandShark Suction-Side Inground Pool Cleaner stopped moving around the pool. Rubber Feet have been replaced and the pool has been backwashed and brushed to be sure there is no slippery film. What could be the problem?
SOURCE: KREEPY-KRAULY Ties itself into a knot while cleaning.
Solution:
We removed 2 portions of hose located at the Krauly end, and attached those at the filter end, then we took the 2 portions located at the filter end, and placed those at the beginning of the Krauly end.
Apparently the problem was that the 2 portions of hosing at the Krauly end had become "twisted" and continually enabled the Krauly to move in the knot tying direction. By replacing these 2 portions at the Krauly end with "un-twisted" portions from the filter end, this ended the twisting cycle.
The Krauly has been running for 48hours straight now without a single knotting episode.
If we see the knot tying direction beginning again, we will repeat these steps, continually replacing with un-twisted portions.
At 1st we thought we needed to purchase some new tubing, but we didn't have to, only needed to move around some hosing.

you may have a hose that allows air to get sucked in at times when the unit moves and the hose with crack is able to float to the surface and make contact with outside air. move hoses around and see if that helps you can also start from the closest connection at the suction port and lift the hose out of the water one section at a time hold it out of water for a moment and see if you notice any weird feeling or hear a slurping do this section by section until you get to the last hose section at kreepy head
SOURCE: My Pentair legend pool cleaner is not moving
On this automatic pool cleaner, this is usually an easy thing to fix. First, make sure that your filter bag is clean and free of obstructions. Next, take of your head float and shake it. If you can hear water inside, you will need to order a new head float and install it. They are usually inexpensive and easy to replace. Make sure the hose floats are evenly placed and make sure that the cleaner is not getting too much pressure from the return lines.
SOURCE: I disconnected the hose to my inground Pentair
Here is a copy of the users manual for these pool cleaners. They have a detailed illustration of how to connect the hose to the in ground pool. You will find that much more helpful that me trying to tell you when i can't see your connections.

Mine was doing something similar. I found that the rubber base was not fully seated front and rear at the paddle ends. It is easy for it to "look" seated but not be. It is easiest to seat and check by removing the upper housing, and the paddle mechanism which can be pulled straight out as it only snaps onto the shaft. Unless fully seated the paddle cannot move enough to ratchet the turning gear. Also check that all of the base tabs are completely pushed thru the plastic base.
