Want to stop VCR from using Spanish language on programs it records

Panasonic VCR is recording programs that can be either English or Spanish in Spanish. How to I shut that off?

  • calijonit May 30, 2009

Thanks so much. I didn't even know I had a SAP button on the remote. I must have accidently pushed it at some time and caused the problem, because I had it set at English in the menu and could not understand why I was getting Spanish recordings.

Use SAP (or SAP/HI-FI) button on remote to cycle through the choices until you get to English or OFF.  Or use Setup Menu to select English language.

How do i program a panosonic video cassettee recorder model pv-7450 using the front buttons cause i lost the remonte

Unfortunately, you can not do a programmed recording with the PV-7450 without the remote. You can do a one-touch (current channel/time) recording. To do this, use the channel buttons to select the desired channel and make sure that a tape with the record tab is in the VCR. Then press Rec/Time (the right-most button) several times to select the recording length. Press Stop to end the recording.

To do a programmed recording, you need the Prog button on the remote. (You may be able to find a universal remote that matches the function if you try enough of the codes for Panasonic VCRs.) There is no matching button on the VCR front-panel.

This is shown in the manual for the Panasonic Omnivision PV-7450, https://www.manualslib.com/manual/305336/Panasonic-Omnivision-Pv-7200.html#product-Omnivision%20PV-7450 . See page 16 for the One-time recording feature. See page 18 for timed recording. I wish that I had better news for you.

Replaying a time recording program. Why does it replay in Spanish not English

Well, it seems like it is already in English, but the spanish wasn't translated because of malfunctions that who knows what happened, for setting caption should be off unless you want text, voices of blind people sounds like the program on t.v. you recorded.

Recorded programs in english come out in Spanish

Make sure your TV hasn't been set for SAP (you'll find it in the audio settings menu). Second audio programming is often used to carry alternate languages, and if it's turned on you won't know it until you watch a program where it's being used. There may be a single button labeled SAP on the remote. If so, it's easy to change the TV setting without realizing it.

Vcr spanish language

You may have your SAP settings turned on in your VCR. Check your setup menu and turn SAP off SAP stands for Secondary Audio Program, it allows for bilingual sound if the station is transmitting a SAP signal. Thank you,
