My 3 year old duet wash has been leaking water and water has been accumulating in the drum. I have an extended warranty from Best Buy and they've been out 2 times this week. First time, he found a sock between the drum and below and declared problem solved. 2nd time he cleaned out a valve next to the water pump and declared problem solved. I ran a load of laundry yesterday and the drum was filled with approximately 3 inches of water and clothes were wet. I ran the drain and Spin mode and the drum cleared. This morning I went to dry the clothes that were in the washer and again the drum was filled with water and had leaked. I have the same problem with my GHW9100LW2. It will magically fill up overnight, but only sometimes...I thought I had elves living in my garage! It doesn't do it every day--in fact, it can go a few weeks without doing it...junk...I regret buying this machine.
Hi;
I HAD A SIMILAR ISSUE; VERY HARD WATER CAUSED MIXING VALVE TO CLOG AND REMAIN OPEN. Mine cost about $50 to repair, and I did it myself.
Good Luck!
Paul
Hi, If you are getting water in the washer without it running, the inlet mixer valve is going bad. When you run a load, does it finish spinning and all the water is out? I hope this helps you. It is not an expensing repair. I can walk you through the repair if you would like.
Please let me know if I can assist you further.
Thanks
Vic

Thanks Vic! That's what i was guessing it was. I think my hard water is the culprit, as the valve is only 3ish years old. At least it is easy to access.
Now I just need to shop for the part.
Thanks again for the quick response!
