Locked MP3 player

Remove battery. Plug in computer. When drive opens up, Format drive as you would a CDRW. When format is done you should be able to reload MP3 files. Good luck

Remove battery in MP3 unit. Plug in computer, when drive opens showing files hit CTL-A. All files in MP3 player will highlight. Hit DELETE. Your MP3 player should be empty & ready to load with your files.

Switch off the hold key.

Are you sure it isn't locked? If its locked, the "MyMusix" logo thingy should appear first, then it will have something like this...

<locked>

And then a few seconds after, it shuts off. The lock switch is on the back side of the MP3.

If that isn't the case, then perhaps it isn't charged enough.

But that's all i know of.

Make sure that you don't have it locked .IF it is locked ,simply switch the hold button to the other side.

Well it shows the lock on the screen because you have it locked. Slide the lock button on top of the player so that you cannot see the orange spot.

You did everything that could be done - the internal switch that lets the device know that the hold is not in the hold position is obviously broken - call Radio Shack and find out if you are still in warranty.

If you have a Windows-based computer,
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

If that fails,
Check the battery polarity. (+ and - must be in correct psoition)
Set the hold button to the unlock position.
Check if the file system is NTFS. If yes ,format it to FAT or FAT32. - Connect player to computer, click my computer, right click on icon of mp3 player and select format
If that fails,
go to www.mymusix.com to see if the latest software update will correct the problem

my mp3 quit working, put in new battery and now nothing happens after boot up, blut mymusix and shuts off. what the heck do i do now

MyMusix MP3 Player PD-6110 doesn't show up on my computer. I'm using Windows 98SE and downloaded the driver I needed but I still can't find this device.
