Indesit W 125 X Washer Handle Broke Off and Door Will Not Open

no easy way to open
disconnect from mains
take top off. feel down the front to where the door lock is and see if you can feel the door peg sticking thro the door interlock. force this with your fingers and with luck the door will open
if can't do this way, break handle off and lever peg with a small screwdriver
you can buy a handle kit complete. fitting this is not difficult - split the door and all will be revealed advise you make a carefull note of where springs go etc before you start stripping it down or take a few fotos if you have a digicam

You should be able to order one from Splendide. In the meantime, try using a screw driver to manually push the door release button.

handle broke how to open door

The spring is probably broken in the door hnbdle, you will need to seperate the 2 door halves to check if this is the case#Hope this helps.

You can buy door handle kit only..cost about £10..

yes u can open door from the inside,take the top off (take plug out first)put your arm down to near the door latch and you will feel the mechinism there just gently push down or up until the door opens,if water is still in the washer then take drain pipe out of the waste pipe and place a bucket on the floor then put the pipe in that to manualy drain it,hope this helps you,ps you can buy a new door handle from any washing repair shop and they are easy to replace just see how the old one comes off,rgrds,paul

there r 2 ways to get the door open 1)use a normal knife and place in front of the door handle push it in and it should open 2)pull the plug out take the lid off now place your hand down to where the catch goes into the washer using your fingers u should be able to pop it open with a bit off fiddling

Undo any screw that you can see on the inside of the door frame, and then prize the two halves apart,
This should give you access to the door handle assy.

I don't know where you live but in St. Paul and most other cities, there are appliace parts distributers, adn they sell to the public. If you can figure out how to get what is left of the handle off of the machine, you can probably put a new one on.
