Go to an authorized Apple dealer and let them fix the problem. That sounds like you might have a bug in your phone. (not a literal bug as in insect by the way)

SOURCE: iphone wont ring

Did you check to make sure that the "mute" switch on the left side of the iPhone is turned off (if you see an orange dot, it means mute is turned on). It may not be vibrating either because in main Settings - Sound - you haven't turned on "Vibrate" when on Mute.

I thought my iPhone was broken until someone pointed out this to me.

SOURCE: IPhone - Can't hear incoming calls. Does not ring or Vibrate.

I had a similar problem....it was usually after I unplugged the headphones....the phone thought they were still attached, therefore, nothing came over the speaker......try plugging in the headphones, then unplugging...that worked for me.

SOURCE: phone won't ring in sleep mode

I had the same problem with my iPhone the only way I was able to fix it was to re-flashed the latest 2.2 firmware. Power phone off, power on by holding power and home at same time, hold power for ten seconds and then release still holding home key for another 30 seconds to put phone in DFU mode. Then plug into iTunes it will detect phone in recovery mode and allow you to re-image

SOURCE: Iphone hangs during standby mode.

If iPhone won't turn on, or the display freezes or doesn't respond

  1. Press and hold the Home button for at least six seconds, until the application you were using quits.
  2. If that doesn't work, turn iPhone off and turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top of iPhone for a few seconds until a red slider appears, and then slide the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
  3. If that doesn't work, reset iPhone. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears

More resets:
Try This:
1. Remove Sim Card
2. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until Apple logo appears
3. Replace Sim Card
4. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until normal phone screen appears.

Also, Try this:
1.) Shut down the iPhone 3G.
2.) Start up iTunes
3.) Hold down HOME button on the iPhone 3G
4.) While keeping the HOME button depressed, plug in the Sync cable
5.) A message will pop up to ask if you want to reset.
6.) Just click YES and the reset process should start.

My iPhone incoming calls ring but do not vibrate, but all other notifications vibrate correctly.

Strange. I would try resetting your iPhone. Hold down the home and power buttons until it powers off. It should start up automatically but if not just press the power button. This has worked for me in the past when my iPhone has acted strangely.
Don't worry about a reset or hard reboot. You won't lose any data or settings.

Why not display incoming calls

Is your display on your phone working, and its just that the incoming calls notification is not working when you recieve calls? Have you tried a hard reset? (battery pull)
If your phones display is functioning, then more then likely it has to do with your settings of your phone. A long time ago with a older phone I had, I accidentally some how turned off my phones incoming calls notification. I was able to remedy this, but calling the phone company and they walked me through how to go into my phones settings and turn the incoming calls notifications back on. I would try this if you cant find it under your phones settings to turn the incoming calls notifications back on. Hope this helps. ;)

Phone doesn't ring for an incoming call

You may have already done this, but the first step is to check your various settings.

Go to Start > System Tools > Settings

First, go to the "Profiles" menu and make sure your phone is NOT in Silent mode.

Then, if your phone still isn't ringing, go to the "Sound" menu and make sure your Ring tone and various other sounds are set appropriately.

Finally, you should try turning off and on your phone and seeing if this corrects the problem.

If none of these tasks work, there may be a hardware issue with your phone and you should bring it to your carrier's local store and ask them to fix or replace it.

Intermittently my iPhone does not ring and incoming calls get forwarded.

Through the iPhone to dustbin and buy a normal phone. It works better than this iphone. This happens to a lot of people.
