Zenith qf989637 when i turn the tv on i get a picture and sound then it gets a blank screen (black) sound stays on and i can see the picture around about 2 inches on the outside of the screen but a black square on the inside does this sound like it will cost alot to repair it seems that when i move the ant wires the screen will come back on for a minute then it will do the same thing

Either the cable or the port it plugs in to is defective, niether of which should be expensive to repair. Obviously the first thing to try is a replacement cable.

Could be ethier one the dish box or the tv itself have cold solders joints on the FBT-Flyback transformer.That the big black block of plastic with a red wire with a black cap hook to the CRT-(tv tube).Call ur tv Dish box customer service,get a replacement box.See, if this will solved ur tv problems.If not,than the tv must be taken aparts and must have tools like a soldering iron,a roll of solders,also must know basic soldering.Resolders all the coldsolders joints on the FBT for a better High voltages contact to the CRT-(tv tube).This problems,will be solved.
Hello, if the model number is correct it's not a projection tv, but an LCD tv. If that's correct, it sounds like a bad main board issue part # is AGF31218501...thanks

Some of these have a 4 pin test on the control board that you can jump with solder to get test pattern. If you get it to do that then these boards maybe good and would replace the control board. if nothing happens, then
the upper & lower drive also the Ysus and Zsus boards all at the same time.
last could be a defective panel.

Sounds like the CRTs are going into protective blanking due to the vertical output ic needing to be resolderd. Try resoldering the vertical IC that may possibly fix the issue.
Sounds like the vertical output IC causing the CRTs to blank you would still have audio and on screen display. Try resoldering the vertical output IC.Thats a common problem
