I have a GE Eterna, which I bought used. The flames were really low and we opened them with a neddle. Now it smells gas and we don't know where is coming from. We suspect that this stove was set for propane gas and we use natural gas. The gas company has looked at it and found no leaks. What should I do. Any help very appreciatted!

If it was used with LP and you are using it with natural, did you change everthing back over to natural gas settings? Orfices, regulator cap, and oven orfice?
It could be a pressure issue.
Please let me know if I can assist you further.

When I turn on the broiler on my GE Eterna the flame actually comes up and out of the oven. I can smell th plastic from somewhere melting. So I don't dare use the broiler. And don't

This shouldn't be happening. You may have a delayed ignition causing this. the igniter may be going bad causing this delay. Or the igniter is too far away from the gas tube.

Smell of gas and excessive flame when using Superba

First thing to check is whether the stove is for LP or natural gas. Takes a different orifice size on each type of gas.

Gas stove causing soot on everything

all of the burners are set to rich...open the vents on the burners more.  If this doesn't help you need smaller nozzles.

Smelling gas at when stove is in prelight then going away

Welcome tkrogers,

You said, smelling gas at when stove is in Pre-light then going away.

In some stoves this is normal as long as it is a slight smell and it goes away when the stove or oven ignites.
You know gas really has no smell, but this smell is added for our safety!!
What is the Make, year ,and Model number of your range?

The gas must start somewhere until the flame ignites it.
So we smell a slight smell of gas until it burns.

Thanks,
Huuum

Funny Smell

ALL YOUR FLAMES SHOULD BE CLEAN BLUE FLAMES WITH NO WHITE OR YELLOW TIPS OR FLAMES !!!! YELLOW FLAME = DIRT OR PAINT? WHITE = LACK OF AIR SOUNDS LIKE YOUR STOVE IS NOT GETTING ENOUGH COMBUSTION AIR. INPROPER AIR ADJUSTMENTS OR LACK OF AIR WILL CAUSE A WHITE TIP ON THE FLAME ... THAT IS CARBON-MONIXIDE !!! A CLEAN BLUE FLAME EMITTS CARBON-DIOXIDE AND IS NORMAL. IF YOU USED AN AIR-GUN TO PAINT, CHANCES ARE YOUR BURNERS HAVE A SLIGHT COATING ON THEM AND HOPEFULLY WILL BURN OFF IN TIME. TRY OPENING ALL YOUR DOORS AND WINDOWS IN YOUR HOUSE ... AND TURN ALL BURNERS ON AND LET THEM BURN FOR AN HOUR. DO NOT LKEAVE SIGHT OF THE STOVE, BUT KEEP NEAR A OPEN WINDOW. NOTICE !!! MOST GAS COMPANIES WILL COME OUT AT NO CHARGE TO CHECK GAS, AND FOR CARBON-MONOXIDE.(C0) NOT (CO2).
