Maytag neptune washer stops after filling with water on the first cycle...will not spin Neptune stops after filling. No codes. Lid unlocks. Ideas?

yes i would agree the water valve is defective as if unplugged it should close,but also sounds like a pressure sensor or pressure hose problem that is also defective too due to the fact that it should at least start the wash cycle even though the water doesn't stop filling,so also it could be the central control unit,pressure switch or pressure hose

lid switch is bad

replace timer. 30 to 50% of value of new machine

I would go into Service Mode and try to unlock the lid latches. Google this

Go to the 5th post down there is a link to the Service Manual. The Service Manual will show you how to get into Service Manual and unlock the lid Locks. If you can't unlock in Service Mode the Service Manual will show you how to release the washer top from thew base to remove your clothes.

LO error code:

Locked: Lid has failed to unlock -

the machine has repeatedly tried to

unlock the lid. Push lid closed to

make sure nothing from the inside is

pressing against the lid, preventing

unlocking.

Is that the issue? Have the Lid locks failed to release and you can't open the Lid?

Or have the Lid Locks released so you can open the washer lid but the error code LO remains?

replace the valve

d sounds as if your having a timer issue here. not recognizing the end of cycle and entering a new one ( bad timer).. as far as time of unlocking this is normal, theres a wax motor holding the door shut for i believe 3 min's.. and the water sloshing sounds is also normal they use a "water filled" balance ring around the perimeter of tub to help with the overall balance of machine

Change your timer. or timer sensor. behind your knobs

If there's a loud thumping noise during the spin cycle, the load of clothes has probably gotten unbalanced. Open the lid, redistribute the clothes in the washer, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.
