I have a Viking VSM700 mixer. It worked one day and was placed under the counter. Two weeks later, the wife pulled it back out and plugged it in. Turned knob and nothing happens. I took it apart and found no scorched electronics or nothing obvious. I looked for a heat protection fuse on the motor as one poster suggested. I could never find any such fuse. Any other ideas on what to look for. How do I check the motor, the switch, or the circuit board. That's pretty much all there is that COULD be the problem
On mine, one of the two brushes was NOT advancing to hit the motor armature as it wore. Had no power. Had to take unit apart to get to motor. We spread the metal brush holder slightly with a screwdriver and allowed the brush to slide so it can make contact with the armature. Motor now works fine. Shame on the Viking Company for dropping the ball on this product!!!

I had the same problem the first time I tried to make a small batch of bagel dough (very small!) I had to send it back for repair and wait.....sorry that the news is not better.

pour a little wesson oil into the attachment holes and work the release while inserting and removing the attachment. Make sure the unit is unpluged. The oil will lubricate the lock mechanism.

Hi,
The best you can do is to send it right back and make them fix it right... there is nothing you can do with that motor to make it run better..
