Was connected but now I'm Not!

I was connected to my router but i can not connect now. I was trying to set my router up with another compuer and now my setting for my computer are now gone.  I try resetting it up but that does not work.  The lap tops don't see the wireless connection.  eventhough it is sending one out.  I can not reconfigure the router online like dell help me using my submask #.  What should I do.  It is not even making a contection thourgh the ethernet cable.

My computer won't recognize my router because I inadvertantly changed the router's IP address and the router utility program won't open so I can change it back. How do I get into the utility program without the router?

I unplugged the poser by mistake and shut everything down and still doesn't work. A worked with my internet provider and I was able to get a connection from the modem, but not the router. So we bypassed for now. Do need to fix as my son needs for XBOX LIVE. Any suggestions

About JZeke comment... I found the solution. By resetting the router, I was able to utilize the default public connection "wireless" to access the web configuration utility program for the router and re-establish my secure network connection.

I think this is a setup error.

What kind of router do you have? Also can you connect to the router with a wired connection?

After you answer those questions I will give you some troubleshooting steps.

Are the WLAN and LAN lights solid, or blinking on the panel?

If not, tell me what lights are on, and what lights are off.

My compuer crashed now i can"t get router to work

Reset the router.Here is how:

Step 1 With the unit on, place a paper clip into the hole on the back on the unit labeled Reset.

Step 2 Hold paper clip down for 10 seconds and release.

Note: Do not repower unit during this procedure.

Step 3 The unit will reboot on its own. Once the WLAN light stops blinking, the unit is reset.

Resetting the router does not reset the firmware to an earlier version. It will change all settings back to factory defaults.

Note: The factory defaults username is admin, and there is no password.

I thing i changed the ip # by mistake who can i get it back uo on my compuer

Unplug your router from the power supply and wait a minute. Plug it back in and the router will reinitialize and assign new IP addresses to each connected component.

Trying to connect to internet but screen says internal modem has no driver - it sees no modem

If you're compuer is connected to a router or DSL/Cable modem through Ethernet connection, you don't need to have to use internal modem. Internal modem are just for dial up connection.

If everytime you launch IE browser and it gives you that prompt, your browser may have set up to connect everytime to a dial up connection. Try to check these settings on your IE:

1. Go to Start> Settings> Control Panel> Internet Options
2. On Internet Options, go to Connections tab.
3. Delete everything under Dial Up and Virtual Private Network Settings, Or just set it to 'Never Dial A Connection'.
4. Click on LAN Settings button.
5. On the next window, uncheck everything (particularly the proxy setting).
6. Click OK all the way out.

Unable to secure wireless network.

log onto the wifi router. set your ssid to whatever you want it to be and security to whatever p/w you want it to be. this will usually require a reboot. this will need to be done on the primary pc

if you only have one. connect it all physically as it should be. then do the above. disconnect the compuer from the ethernet cable and it should be a wa-la. hope this helps :)

Modem problem

1.the ip address on the modem is a static ip from your isp but make sure that the compuer ip is in specification of the isp ordained by your isp except you are using dhcp for ip assignment.

2.check your connection cables for consistency
