Question about GE Cooktops
We just purchased a new GE gas cooktop and after installation we have noticed that a couple of the knobs are misaligned - meaning that on one side they are very close to the numbers and on the other side there is a 1/2 gap between the know and the numbers. In one case there is a flange showing that should be covered by the know, but due to the misalignment the flange is visible. Can I pull the cooktop out and align the knob mechanism that is under the cooktop so the knobs will line up properly?
Most of these knobs just pull off.
If yours is like this, just pull off the knob, and reinstall by pushing back onto the shaft with it correctly aligned.

The Dacor knobs have a history of breaking easily. For that reason I recommend that you clean them in place using cotton swabs, tooth brush, etc. WHatever cleaning agent you use, put it on and let it sit for 5 minutes to loosen up any grime.
They do pull off but they often break and they are pricey to replace.

replace your spark module
have you spilled liquid on the cooktop recently?
if yes let it dry for a couple of days and see what happens.
sometimes when you spill liquid on the cooktop it grounds out the spark module and it will continue to spark until it drys.
let me know if you need more help
