Memory stick compatibility from Cybershot memory stick and a vio
Hi there, My name is Dan.I bought my wife a Sony Cybershot camera 12.1 mega pixels. She is trying to download the picture data from the memory stick to he (circa 2006) sony vaio vgn-s660 notebook computer. The notebook can't read the memory stick, and prompts to format the memory stick. She still can download the pictures from the camera using the cables that she has used in the past. The memory stick mod no that she is using is a Memory stick PRO Duo Mark 2, 8 gb/go (for use with Handycame and Cyber-shot products and PSP devices.(for use with AVCHD)It seems as though this memory stick is not compatible with her notebook pc.Please advise me of the correct memory stick mod number to resolve this [email protected]
hi , this may just be a "fat32 " or "ntsc" file format problem ,,have you tryed saving all your photos in the cable way then formating the memory via the pc utilising the memory stick way , ie , once the memory is saved ,use your pc to format the drive.hi , this may just be a "fat32 " or "ntsc" file format problem ,,have you tryed saving all your photos in the cable way then formating the memory via the pc utilising the memory stick way , ie , once the memory is saved ,use your pc to format the drive.

Your camera's pretty well deprecated by anything over $20 out there. Still, why do you not just use a search engine and/or market specific tools (eBay, flash memory specialists) to look for suppliers of 2GB MS Pro-Duo M2 (and compatible Lexmark and other Memory Stick cards?) Failing that, are you sure you haven't called Sony's support phone numbers?
Yes, you need to have memory stick because camera has limited internal memory that can store few pictures only. Put new memory card, format it through camera Menu and copy internal memory pictures to memory stick, take our memory card from camera and delete internal memory pictures either one by one or format internal memory through camera Menu. Thanks.
Please RESET your camera , go to Menu > Initialize > OK If problem still exist you need to replace flash unit in camera. Let me know if you need further help.
