Horizontal Lines and Blue Tint on my Sony KDP 57XBR2
For my Sony kdp 57xbr2
There are horizontal lines going across my screen, that isn't as noticeable when actually watching something, but they're still there. Also, when I turn the TV on the picture has a blue-ish tint over it, almost making it look like everything was shot with a blue camera filter. Even static has a blue tint when there's no cable hooked in, and this doesn't change when I change inputs, it's a constant thing. Every so often the picture will go blank for just a second as well, then come back, the sound uninterrupted. Upon coming back, the blue tint is gone for about 1 second before coming back. Any ideas? Thanks.

I had the same problem in blue. I took the right front speaker cover off (pops off) and the access panel on the right side 2 - 4 screws. In the upper right corner is a black plastic box with 2 rows of 3 adjustment screws. All I did was turn one of the "screen" screws (not the "focus" screws). Hope this helps. May only be a temporary fix, but good luck...
While looking at your TV, remove the bottom right speaker grill. There you will find a cover held by a couple of screws. Remove the screws and behind the cover you will find the "focus pack" which is a group of 6 adjustment screws. The top screws adjust (in order from left to right) the brightness of Red, Green and Blue.
What you will do preferably at night (or with the room dark) turn the top left adjustment screw (Red) all the way to the left and then gradually turn it to the right until the point you can see the retrace line and then turn it slightly to the left until the retrace line disappears. That's it! You can do this for all three colors - if need be. These do go out of adjustment every now and then. The 3 screws on the bottom are to focus the colors individually to minimize "bloom" on the screen. It's best to be in service mode on your TV when doing this OR open up the cabinet and cover (with something) the other 2 colors while you adjust the focus of the color you're adjusting.
replace the focus block or try to adjust the screen control on the focus block for red only. this will affect the white balance of the set so adjust it carefully. the focus block is located on the front inside the set. remove the speaker cover then the 4 screws on the front plate. the focus block is 3" x 2" black box with 6 adjustment posts three for focus and three for screen. adjust only the affected screen (R).
I had the same problem about a 8 months ago. I searched online and found that there is a problem with one of the color guns. They need to be replaced. I don't remember where I found the information, but there is a number or something to call for this problem. I think that my authorized sony repair man knew of the problem, there are other models that have the same problem. Anyway, sony replaced all three guns in my tv FREE of charge, and my tv was no longer under warranty. They did all repairs and fixed my tv.
