This television is having a problem with intermittent component operation. The turning of and on is a sign that there is a problem with the circuits and the television going into the protection mode and coming out again. This will happen as the faulty component or components re-stabilize their operation. This problem will only get worse and could cause major damage to your television. You should take this television into a service center to have it tested and repaired. The Magnavox customer support telephone number is 1-800-705-200. Give them the model number of your television and the problem you are having with intermittent shut-offs during operation. They will be able to tell you how to get your television tested and serviced. I hope this information help you with your problem.

We have a Philips 4 BDS4231R/00 and it does not start. We can here the relay sound and if we turn it on and off say 7 - 10 times it works fine. Could anybody tell me how this can be fixed. Please

Hey John, I am experiencing a very similar problem. If I unplug the TV when it is on (green light) and plug it back in. It begins green, and clicks to red. I immediately turn the TV back on with the remote. Most of the time it seems to struggle for several seconds, sometimes with a little scratchy audio popping in and out. It will then go from green to red on the TV and if I try to turn it back on it will go green for a few seconds and back to red but without any click coming from the TV. No matter how many times I try after that, no TV. If, on the other hand, I unplug while green, plug it back in and with the remote turn it back on after it has come up green and then clicked to red, it will come on. It might take thee or five times but at least it comes on... If you hear of a real solution, please let me know ([email protected]) in the meantime, best of luck.

replace the power botton or sometime spray a contact cleaner for ur lubricant to avoid damage.swtching off is cause of power on carbon damgae or the spring is damage that why its go back to off.

ctgarden girl, my set does the EXACT same thing! I too wondered if a cold room was an issue. The set is only 4 years old, and I didn't have this problem in my old place where the room was a lot warmer.
