Please try to format your card on computer and then use it....

I've had the same problem. The lock tab on my SD card was not broken but loose. Every time you insert it in a card reader or camera the tab slides back to the locked position rendering it useless. My solution is to super glue the lock tab to the unlocked positon. If your lock tab has broken off just put or make a replacement tab and glue or tape it to the unlocked (forward) position. BTW super glue leaves a white powdery residue after it dries. Wipe it off before it gets into your camera.

My m525 is telling me card locked how do i unlock it

Little sliding switch on the side of the SD memory card. Remove from camera, slide switch away from lock position, re-install and you should be good to go.

thanks.

Have a Photosmart M525 with a 1.0 GB. When it is on the screen says card locked, so of course can not take any pictures. What is the problem?

Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Photosmart HP M525 Camera( Memory Card Problems)

Go into my computer. Select the drive letter for that memory card with the mouse. Press the right mouse button and select format. Use the FAT option to format not NTSC.

Wrong format on HP M425

Just fixed this problem on a M525 camera (same physical construction).

Do a search with M525 and format.

Error Saving Image

From HP's website:
Check this document:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00191836&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=&product=410648

Error saving image or Error saving video. The optional memory card that is installed was removed before the camera finished writing to the card or was half-locked.
  • Always wait until the Memory light stops blinking before removing the memory card from the camera.
  • With the camera turned off, remove the memory card and check to see if the locking tab on the edge of the card is fully in the unlocked position.

Also, check this link:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericDocument?cc=br&lc=en&docname=c00017052

You might just have to reformat your memory card.
