SOURCE: Bose Companion II Computer Speaker: The AC power adapter burnt

My puppy chewed through the cord for my a/c adapter, I just took the speakers into Circuit City, and they found me a workable replacement (the replacement isn't BOSE, but it works just fine).  Hope that helps!

SOURCE: Loud hum when Bose Companion 3 Series II speakers are turned on.

I had the same problem for many months. I asked a sound & video professional and he suggested I move the subwoofer away from any power source. I had the subwoofer next to my UPS. Once separated and moved all wiring away from the power supply (about 12") the low bass hum was practically gone.

SOURCE: Bose Companion 3 series II speakers aren't producing sound (imac)

from what I've read, the imac has a 3.5mm (.138) jack while the Bose jack is 1/8 (.125). very small difference in size (.013), but enough to cause problems.

Can I hook up the Bose Companion 2 series speakers to my HDTV and get acceptable sound?

Hi,
Well if you currently find the sound of the Bose acceptable and your inbuilt HD TV speakers poor, then the answer is yes. Should you not like the sound of the Bose, plugging them into an HD TV won't make them sound any better :-)

Just use the headphone out of your HD TV to connect. You may find you need to enable the headphone socket/volume via the menu settings on your HD TV
