Did you try to press the display button several times? Most of the time you can cycle through different views on the display, with different information during record mode. One is display off.
Unfortunatly the Olympus 6020 does not hav a dedicated hardreset switch, nor a key sequence to initiate reset. So if you cant get into the camera menu, and reset the camera from there. Or if that does not work. The camera has to be serviced by proffesionals.
My friend has a similar problem: screen works with menu, not for aking pictures. I do not know if the camera fell. It seems to me that the sensor might be disconnected or broken. Could this help in finding the solution or further pinpointing the exact problem
needs to go in to a camera shop for repair, either the shutter is broken in the lens or the CCD is bad...could be more than that but, It would have to get disassembled to determine that. I work on Olympus cameras and have found that sometines it's easier to let someone with a box of spare parts fix it...
