I just bought a Crosley Mini Cruise Turntable back form the US, and plugged it into my mains with an adaptor - it worked for about 1 minute before stopping, and I immediately unplugged the machine. Would the fuse in the plug have saved the machine, or have I damaged the interior components due to the higher voltage running through it?

If it has a fuse I would replace it then if it still doesn't work that would mean you damaged it with high voltage.

As grubhead implies, there is more to making a unit work on 'foreign' power than just making the plug fit in the socket. You don't say what was the input voltage used versus what it needs. It sounds like a 220 in to a 110 required device. Potentially it's toast unless the in-line fuse saved it. I'm sure the manual would have cautioned against what happened.

Crosely won't play usb

If it's a turntable with a usb connector, those connections are usually outputs only. USB on a turntable is used to output the audio to a computer to rip albums to digital audio.

It could be the adapter is just faulty, but you can't tell to you get power to the unit if any part has failed inside (most liklely the transformer if it has).
I found this step-down adapter on amazon which should do the trick, not expensive either.

Crosley traveler turntable noise

Hello attaboy. You may need to check you ac cord if the noise is in turntable, radio, & cassettte mod. If it has a 3 prong plug than you are missing a GND connection, in the cord or inside the unit. If it has a 2 prong plug than take it back or open it up and replace filter capacitors or bridge rectifiers in units power supply.

You will likely need a stereo mini-plug (3.5mm or 1/8-inch) to stereo RCA plug cable (red and white RCA plugs). This is often referred to as a "stereo Y-cable."

Check the drive band- it may have come off the pulley. But if it is a new purchase then perhaps it should go back to the vendor

AC adaptor cord

Try a Radio Shack universal replacement power supply like 273-1773 or 273-1776 or 273-1667 with the proper "Adaptaplug" that goes with it. It should do nicely and be sure to observer the proper polarity of the plug so that it will match your unit. Good luck.
