Hose/fitting is clogged - blow it out with your mouth or what ever - it won't be a hard clog

How to make unit drain through hose, instead of filling bucket?

Assuming you have a hose connected to the bucket for drainage, it is necessary that the end of the hose be lower than the top level of the bucket or the bucket will fill before the hose drains. I see many people who have their units on the floor and run a hose up into a sink and wonder why the bucket fills. Gravity works.....if you cannot find a lower place to drain the water then you must raise the unit up on a table or stand of some sort to get the bucket higher than the drain.

Whirlpool AD50USS Dehumidifier WILL NOT DRAIN THROUGH HOSE

I have a similar model. There are two drains, one for the hose and one directly into the bucket. The hose one is supposed to be lower, but I had to put a 3/8 inch block under the right side of the unit to get the water to favor the hose instead of the bucket. Another possibility is that the far end of the hose is higher than the near end. If you can't lower it, you can put the whole dehumidifier up on blocks. One other thing to check is that the hose has a rubber washer in it where it connects to the unit. Use a tissue to see if this connection is dry. If it leaks, it will just drip into the bucket.
Good luck!

I own a Whirlpool Dehumidifer Model Number AD 70USS1. I have a drain hose connected to the unit, however, recently the unit's internal collection bucket fills with water to the point that the...

superstee - You're having to empty it because either the drain hose you have connected to the unit is clogged or the drain hole a the hose connection is clogged. Therefor, the water is drained into the tank, rather than the drain hose. Also, the drain hose would not be any longer than 5' and must drain down, as the dehumidifier does not have a pump. It relies totally on gravity.

Remove the hose and check it for clogs. If clear check the drain hose connection, using an 18" long appropriately sized Zip Tie. Carefully insert the Zip Tie and continue to push it in until you reach the bend in the tubing. Gingerly work past this bend, until the Zip Tie bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. The while slowly pulling it out, rotate the Zip Tie. This will dislodge the clog. As you reach the end of the Zip Tie removal, be prepared for some water to follow. CAUTION: BEFORE DOING ANY OF THE ABOVE TURN THE MASTER ON/OFF SWITCH TO OFF AND UNPLUG THE UNIT.

The above should solve the problem for you. Please let me know. Thanks.

Water fills in the bucket and will not drain

I've got the same problem. It drained through the hose for 6 months, but recently stopped and now fills the bucket. I connected a new hose, but that didn't help. I found some debris inside the dehumidifier (where you connect a hose to), but removing that didn't help. I may try taking the unit apart to see if somehow a cricket or some sludge got built up inside.
I'll post my findings. Hopefully it won't be too complex or nasty!!

Hose not draining, bucket only fills

The easiest way to unstop the hose is to blow air through the end enough to clear the clumped up dust at the other end using air compressor or air pump.

Do i need to disable the collection bucket to attach a drain line to my Matag dehumidifer M7DH45B2a? Or does it keep a full bucket and drain the overflow to the tubing drain?

No just connect the hose and open the hole to the unit to drain and return to usauge. it will fill to the drain opening and drain.

Hose connector

First, is the dehumidifier high enough so that the hose isn't 'backing up'? Otherwise, attach a small radiator hose clamp to hold it on.
