Waiting, 'time" will not resolve this issue. Its a common problem where the MJ isn't talking to their servers. i would check your internet connection to the device as a first step. Change ethernet cable, even if the one you're using has worked before. Weird things happen to cables, some unseen....its always easier to assume a cable is bad and replace it or if you know how, test it within your own network.
The other solution would be to check on what ports are open for the MJ through your router. Offhand I cannot remember what it requires, but it could be that the router is blocking the signal, so the MJ cannot find the servers it needs.
Other than that, there a ton of tech support written on the MJ and the MJ Plus. I have both and had problems with the first two MJ's and didn't register my MJ Plus because I gave up on a home line.
