Lately, all "white" objects, text, spaceships, etc. have "glows"
Hi - I have a 4805 and have had so for a bout 2 years, (and not "overused" the light bulb,) in my opinion, but lately any time I watch DVD's, that have a lot of contrast, (Ex. the opening text scrawl on star wars) there is a glow around the letters, -like a "bleed" of the color.
Another example is when I see scenes in space, ships or planets, they also have a "glow" around them as well - any hard light or bright whites, windows, lights, etc on screen have this glow - I have tried bright/contrast adjustement but even darkening down the image, I still see this effect -

It sounds that the laser pickup unit to your HTS is faulty. Contact any service technician to replace it. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Viewing it in "Mosaic" or "Magazine" will make surf easy. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. Do a search by type in the brand name of your device at its search box. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
the light tunnel is collapsing and needs replacement. the part itself is relatively inexpensive, but you have to be careful if you want to replace it yourself. it's under the colorwheel, which is delicate. when you remove the top, front, and rear panels, remove the colorwheel (which is between the lens and the lamp) and carefully set it aside. there are 2 screws holding the light tunnel bracket in place. remove them and the bracket. pull out the pieces of the tunnel (little rectangles of mirror) and replace with a new one. reverse the steps to put it back together. by the way, you can get the part from any infocus authorized service center (check the infocus website for the one closest to you). part # 306-0095-01
Try resetting the projector by pressing and hold the two Keystone buttons, then turn ON projector. Hold down the two Keystone buttons for 15 seconds, then turn OFF projector.
Turn ON projector, the new lamp should strike.

check the wireing in the new bulb . My new one had the wires in the wrong holes like if there are 4 slots in the connector then my orignal was in slots 1 and 4 the new one was in slots 1 and 3 so I took the wire out and put it in the #4 slot and put it in and unpluged the machine and did a reset and restart and it came on green. Hope this helps.
Have you checked with the manufacturer regarding a firm ware upgrade? There was an issue with this at one point. Make sure to contact them directly. They can either mail you a cd version, direct you to where it might be on their website, otherwise email it to you.
They are able to fix that problem which my sister and my other sister/brother in law also owned this same pj had to do the same thing.
To be honest, most people who experience short lamp life on the Infocus X2 is on the genuine infocus lamps. If you read the user opinions here, you'll know what I mean. Me personally think that the X2 lamp filter some how manage to block the vents with dust which results in inefficient cooling in effect reducing the life of the lamp. The best thing to do is vacuum the lamp filters regularly and stick to cheap lamps as the oem ones on the Infocus X2 are also no good. Or better still, just replaace the bulb on it's own from here and save a lot of money.
i have had this problem several times i think this is a manufactures default. i am in the proccess of contacting the manufacture email me we can talk [email protected] please let anyone else who is having this problem contact me as well.
