Need to find a power/battery charger board for Acer Ferrari 4000.

you just need to remove the CMOS battery, when replaced it resets the BIOS password. but please make sure no battery power or charger pluged in at the time you open up the machine.

Remove main battery and try again, if nothing! check power adapter for correct voltage, If okay! sub out the ram memory one at a time and test, still no change! the DC jack is often the source of trouble and the laptop will need to be dismantled down to the motherboard level, the DC jack will probably need resoldering.

first remove the power cord, then the battery.

go to this link and download the manual for the Acer notebook.. basically you have to remove the back cover , the one with most of the screws around it. Once you get the plastic cover off, you will see the one side of the mainboard, look for a coin shaped silver battery, remove the CMOS battery and replace with new one

in case yopu dont have the manual, link below can be downloaded -- but it will not show you how to remove the battery.

Think you may need the VGA zip file and you may need winzip as well its normally freeware or trialware

Thank you for your query it sounds like you have multiple hardware issues

1) you mention that the ac adapter does not charge, then you say ac adapter ok. Please clarify if the adapter is faulty or the battery

2) As for the line in your screen, your LCD is faulty and will need to be replaced

I would recommend that you book the laptop into a reputable PC shop for further investigation/repair

Acer Ferrari 4000 "power on" blank screen, fan is running but no beeps, no activity in/from the HD. No reaction on a F8 start up (no Bios set up). It charges the battery OK.

There could be screws behind the battery area if you haven't found so. If it doesn't come out then you gotta remove the bezel on the top of the keyboard... might need some preying be careful plastics break easily. when you get the bezel off then you might see some screws holding the keyboard down and now remove those and be careful not to destroy and of the white ribbons they are extremely hard to replace if broken.

based on your information, with new ac adapter and new battery the notebook will still not charge your battery this is a motherboard problem. replace motherboard

DC jacks are available through Digi-key.com, mouser.com or mcminone.com.. Replacement is the hardest part. Weve repaired thousands.. (Estimated laptops).. And where are you located?
