Question about Creative Labs Zen Micro MP3 Player
I have tried all of the tips I have found and nothing works. I have a firmware error and trying to install the firmware it says that the player is not connected. I tired the 'Repair tool' and it could detect what player I have, but still when it launched the firmware it says the player is not connected. I am able to see the player through 'windows explorer', but unable to load anything that way either.
I HAD the same problem ("player not connected").
To solve it, I needed to unistall Windows Media Player 11 and Windows Media Format 11 runtime. Use the usual method...control panel, add/remove programs, remove each component, then reboot.
After a reboot, let Windows find the Zen as a MTP device. Then, lanch the Creative repair tool or the firmware update utility. Your player should be connected and you'll be able to proceed.

Clean up the drive in recovery mode a couple of times..Till it starts working..Thats the only way to solve this problem and it worked for many of my frnds..you might have to do it 3-4 times..and dont attempt a firmware upgrade after it starts working...coz this problem is really a pain..

This sounds like a drive error.
Try right clicking the drive in windows explorer then properties>tools>error checking>check now and tick both boxes and then start.
