Turn the TV and receiver off and back on. This is called "power cycling" the devices.
Check the menu settings to make certain the TV is still sending a sound signal out to the receiver.
Disconnect the cable, blow both ends out, reconnect, and see if the cable was partially disconnected or has dust or lint interfering with the connections.
Change the cable for another cable that you know to be working.
Use a different source for the TV: DVD, Cable, different channel, etc.
1,If you still have the old tv, reconnect.
2 turn on power after connecting cables making sure audio goes into ado and video into video.- very important.
3. do you get the pic, and sound?
4 if you do, do the settings to your choice.
will talk about new if the old does not work, good luck lindamilo.
Change input device to some other which you know works for sure. If problem persists, try changing the channel. If you notice same problem, this may need attention by a qualified service technician.
Check what in the HD 612 receiver what year it was made and the software, frameware version it in the programing.Do the same with the tv might not have compatible version of softwares.
Hi there,
I am having a similar problem with the inputs. I have a cable box plugged in to cable antenna, DVD to video 6 using HDMI, Mac computer plugged in to video 7 - using HDMI (TV does not recognize this) and then Nintendo Wii hooked up to Video 1. My problem is that Sony only realizes 2 additional components like the video 1 (wii) and DVD on video 6, it does not play the other components. I have to niw manually switch the cables to have them work...

You can try a hard reset : Unplug TV from AC mains and remove all cables from TV. Wait about 30 minutes and replug to AC power and redo the cabling. Switch on the TV and see if it works..
