SOURCE: I have an HP Pavilion

First of all let's clarify that the wireless connection is between your laptop and the router, not between laptop and desktop. The router is the device that gives the data at the computers in order to view them as pictures e.t.c. The report from your laptop means that the wireless connection is not established. This is because either the distance between laptop and router is long, or someone has switched off the laptop's wi-fi. At the front panel or with a key combination (usually Fn+F2) the wireless connection can be manually switched on - off. Try to locate this switch and turn it to on position.

SOURCE: cannot update drivers hp mini

Did they install correctly in device manger? HP downloads can be exe's and have to be run instead of updating. Does this make sense?

Wireless capability is turned off

Depending on your model Fujitsu and OS, which you failed to mention. Open the Network Adapter , Via Network Sharing Center, Change Adapter Settings. It could be a switch, or Fn Key? That's the best I can do with the info supplied. The user manual can be found here: http://support.fujitsupc.com/CS/Portal/support.do?srch=GUIDES

I have an Acer Aspire 5552. It is unable to find any networks. wen I troubleshoot the problem, it tells me te wireless capability is turned off. I have tried Fn F3. it is still giving me the same error....

hi there.
Try this 1

1) Click on start --> In search bar, type ncpa.cpl and press Enter.

"Network Connections" will be opened.

2) Right-click on your "Wireless Network Adapter" --> Properties -->

Select "Internet Protocol Version(TCP/IPv4) --> Click on "Properties"

button --> Make sure "Obtain an IP address automatically" is selected

--> Click on OK --> OK.

3) If the problem still exists then check your SSID and the wireless password.
Function F3 no longer turns on the wireless on my Acer Aspire 5253 laptop.
Do you receive any message or code while turning on wifi?
There is a tiny switch on the side of the laptop (on in the front) that turns the wireless ON/OFF. Make sure you've switched it on.
Method 1: Run the network troubleshooter and check if it fixes the issue:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Using-the-Network-troubleshooter-in-Windows-7
Method 2: Do the following to change the wifi settings:
a.Click Start, type network and sharing center in the Start search box and hit Enter.
b.Click Change adapter settings.
c.Right-click the connection and select Enable.

To know more about how to "Set up a wireless network".
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Setting-up-a-wireless-network.
if none off the above works try this link out as well.

Can not turn on my wireless swith

you may wanna try this:

To turn your wireless back on: Click on the internet icon at the bottom right corner of your taskbar. Open "Network and Sharing Center". Click "Manage Network Connections" on top right of the Network and Sharing Center Right-click on your wireless network and then click "Diagnose" If your wireless is off, it should give you the option to turn it back on. This is different than the other "diagnose" functions where it simply tells you to turn it back on because this one actually turns your wireless back on for you. You should then see the orange flashing light on your keyboard and your wireless should be back up and running again.

or

- remove the battery and charger (everything connected to the pc) then press the power button for 1 minute..
- plug back in the charger
- after few secs try to turn it on and boot it normally

hope this helps :D

First, check if the wireless switch on the computer is ON.
Second, you should see a blue light on thwireless indicator.
Third, press and hold "Fn" key and press "F5" (this enables/disables wireless capability of the computer)
Last, try to detect wireless networks by going to START>CONTROL PANEL>NETWORK AND INTERNET/NETWORK AND SHARING CENTER/NETWORK CONNECTIONS>click on "connect or disconnect" and it will display available networks.

How can I turn on the wireless capability on my Asus G60VX laptop? the switch on the front left is on and still nothing. trouble shooting says wireless capability is turned off. it was working fine untill...

I can figure out that your laptop runs Windows Vista. Go to Control panel, then Network and Sharing centre and then go to Manage Network Connections and see if the Wireless Network Connections icon is disabled, make sure it is enabled and not connected. Try disabling and enabling it again. If still no go, try to manually turn off the wireless switch and turn it back ON. Check the light status (if any), confirm the error message too. If still, it seems not to be working, then the internal switching might have gone bad. You need to get the laptop serviced.

Where is the switch or function key combination to turn on wireless connection?

It's difficult to tell, but there seems to be a small switch on the front, that may activate the wireless connection. If that isn't it, you can usually access the modems through control panel, under 'network and internet,' and the wireless assistant, or possibly the network and sharing center; if the wireless modem is disabled, right clicking on the icon will usually give you an option to activate it, or you can connect to a network through the network and sharing center, as well as detecting networks, and that will tell you whether or not the thing is working.
