Stop ringing at main phones when outside calls come in.

All our phones ring when an outside calls comes in. How do I disable ringing at certain phones when this happens? (Only for outside calls not internal) We have the Lucent Partner Mail VS System. Thank you. I have a similar problem...I cannot get the main lines 1 & 2 to ring. I went out of town and one of my co-workers did something to my phone. Now when an incomming call comes in it just beeps and the line 1 buttone just lights up. I tried the Feature 00 and I'm on the main extension, but I have held down the line 1 button and it continues to say No ring, I have pressed the line 1 button and there is no change, still says no ring, same with line 2. Line 3 is the fax line and it says immediate ring. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Please help. Thanks!

Now it's not even beeping....lol. I appreciate the quick response, but I tried the Feature 11, extension 10 10 and it did not work. I went back and tried the Feature 00 again and same as before, all lines blink except fax line. I hold the line 1 button down, no change still says no ring, same with line 2, also because I'm on the speaker doing this, the speaker light blinks too. Line 3 is as it should be which is the fax line and that light is solid and says immediate ring. Thank you for your quick response. I love trouble shoothing!

Here is a link to program line ringing.

It sounds like your extension is forwarded (confirmed by the one beep you hear on an incoming call.

From any display phone, press Feature 11
then enter your extension number 2 times. So if you are extension 20, do this:
Feature11-20-20
see if that does it.

    From extension 10
    Feature 00
    LEFT INTERCOM
    LEFT INTERCOM
    RIGHT INTERCOM
press 10 (to program extension 10)
now you will be able to press the line buttons and change ringing.

    solid green, is immediate ring
    slow blink, delayed ring
    Fast blink, no ring.

    Will also indicate on display...
    Feature 00 whehn done

How to disable do not disturb on NEC Dterm80 phone?

Have a coworker call your extension to see if DND is on, they will go straight to voicemail or get a fast busy. Speaker 42 may be the default cancel DND code, depending on your system and whether the codes were changed. Anyway, ringing is set up in system programming. If someone calls your extension it will likely ring, but outside calls have to be assigned to ring in system programming. Usually need a tech to do the programming since it gets complicated very quickly.

Phone rings once, but then stops ringing and I can't answer the call

If you have a landline, most likely you have a short in it. Not enough to kill line, but, when the 90 volts a.c. comes in to ring it jumps short. The short answers the phone.. It doesn't stop out going but can cause static. Check the line at the box outside. if bad there call your phone company, if good there, trouble is in house

The phones won't ring when calls are coming in. The lights on the phone light up but there is no sound

Uh oh, I just saw this. Is it in the main board 101-108 exts, or one of the expansion boards?

Ringing is set 3 ways, by the switch on the side of the phone, by programming, by features. First, make sure the switch is in the ring position and have someone call you on the intercom. If it rings, have someone transfer an outside call to you. If it rings, try dialing 790 on the intercom to reset station features. If none of this works, It's time to look at ring programming. It's done from the system programming mode at the main phone or from a PC. It's program codes 408-410 or section 3.2 from the Maintenance console.

The last ugly thing is it's a hardware failure.

Stop ringing at certian phones when outside calls come in.

http://dstech1.com/programming-line-ringing/

Partner, all releases.
Examples
Receptionist Call Routing. If you want calls to be answered by the receptionist first, set the lines at the receptionist's extension to Immediate Ring and the lines at the users' extensions to No Ring. (This is the factory setting)
Receptionist Backup. If you want all calls on a line to ring directly at users' extensions -with the receptionist providing backup -set the line at the users' extensions to Immediate Ring. Then set the line (or lines) at the receptionist's extension to Delayed Ring. An incoming call that is not answered by a user within 20 seconds will also ring at the receptionist's extension.
Programming
To change the way outside lines or pools ring at an extension:
  1. Press [ Feature ] [ 0 ] [ 0 ] [ System Program ] [ System Program ] [ Central Tel Program ].
  2. Enter the number of the extension to be programmed for Line Ringing. The green lights next to the line or pool buttons on the phone show the current Line Ringing settings for all lines assigned to the extension. (If a line is not assigned to a button, the green light next to the button is off.) The following ringing options can be shown by the green light next to the line button.
    • Immediate Ring - on steady
    • Delayed Ring - flashes slowly
    • No Ring - flutters quickly
  3. To change Line Ringing for any line, press the line or pool button until the button light shows the correct setting (the setting for the currently selected line or pool also appears on the display).
  4. Continue programming or exit programming mode.

Mitel 5220 IP phone won't ring when the main line is ringing

WOW
Ok this post is OLD, but for anyone else having this issue, this is the solution...

There is a programming feature that states: DELAYED RING on certain lines, meaning you can physically see a call coming in to the system (via line flashing), but it will not ring at your desk till something like the 4th ring(hence the name DELAYED ring).

If your set does not ring, and you pick up the heandset, the phone system doesn't know if you want to answer the call -or- you just want to make an outgoing call...
Therefore the Mitel system picks up internal dialtone and waits for you to make the initial reaction (hit 9 for a line out or hit a line that is flashing on the set).

Too change this option, a Mitel Tech is required...
