Error message reads- "waste toner is near full"
SOURCE: imagerunner 2016, waste toner full error message
hey, wel if the copier is showing a message saying that the waste toner is full it means the waste toner deposit is attached to the drum unit.
so, open up the frotn cover, pull down the (drum)-lock lever, it should release the left cover, then pull towards you the drum unit, and there you go.
the black case with a small trasparent cap is the waste toner deposit.
you have two ways to go.
1 you may remove that rounded transparent plastic cap and be able to vaccum the waste toner (dont even try reusing that toner, it wont work ok) or
2 you can go the other way wich allows you to easily vaccum it: remove the drum (the roller itself) then the charger roller, then the cleaning blade and there yo go again, but now you got more space to vaccum and believe me it is easier this way.
an additional choice would be to buy a new drum unit gpr18 i think (check please) and forget all about vaccum-ing.
SOURCE: Waste ink near full error
Canon's a little shady when it comes to this, since any waste ink pad I've seen never has been more than 30-40% full. You can reset that status without cleaning the waste ink out and the printer should return to normal.
1) On the printer, press Additional Functions, Scan, Copy, Scan. This will put you in service mode.
2) Select Test mode at the bottom
3) Select
#8 Printer Test, wait for more options. It should say 8-2 or 8-3; push the + or -
button until it says 8-3 then hit Select. The menu will now say EEPRON Clear
4) Select Ink count which is option (0) and press set
5) Press Stop/Reset, then the power button and wait for it to restart.
I hope this helps!
SOURCE: Message "wasted ink tank near full" on Canon Multipass F80
Inkjet printers have a fibrous pad inside them that collects the waste
ink from cleaning the print head. Over time, this pad fills up with ink
and can no longer hold any more. When this occurs, the printer
indicates a "waste ink tank full" error.
Replacing
the waste ink absorption pads is something an authorized canon service
facility can take care of for you. Once they are replaced,
it'll be functional again.
