Normal 0 Hi, Removing the cabinet. UNPLUG the washer. There are two screws holding the control panel to the cabinet. Most models the screw are in front but, some models have the screws in back. They are on each end. Now raise the control panel up and let it rest on the hinges. Unplug the lid switch harness and locate the clips on each side (bronze in color) and release them.
Now the cabinet will lift off the frame and you can set it aside.

How to replace a coupler:
Now that the cabinet is out of the way, remove the pump from the motor and set the pump off to the side. Remove the two screws holding the clips on the motor and remove the clips. Unplug the motor harness and on some models you wil need to unplug the capacitor.
Now you will need to replace all three parts to the coupler. I use a ½” socket and a small hammer to force the coupler onto the motor and transmission shafts. Put the rubber part onto the coupler half on the transmission and then line up the post on the motor shaft with the holes on the rubber part and it should go on ok. Put the clips that hold the motor in place and plug in the harnesses.
Put the pump back on and the clips to hold it in place. Set the cabinet back on the frame. Make sure the lip on the front cabinet is under the front rail of the frame. Ease the cabinet on the frame making sure the two rear sides of the cabinet set down on the tabs of the frame.
Put the two clips back on that hold the cabinet and plug the lid switch back in. Fasten the control panel down and you are all set.
I hope this helps you.
Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Mazda 2300 grindes when shifting into 4th

4th gear is not a gear as such but a coulping of the input and out put shafts to make a complete shaft
If there is a problem moving this coupling it indicates a syncro ring problem or spigot bearing failure in the end of the input shaft
either way it amounts to a gear box removal and pull down for repairs.

Does not spin and makes a cranking noise

This may be a motor coulping problem. I replaced mine today on a Kenmore it took 30 minutes time and a $25. part picked up locally. Was able to get a good diagram on line to take the housing off the machine and move the necessary parts to get to the coulping. Smile, clean clothes are not far away!

Machine will not agitate

If it is belt drive the belt could be broken or the gearbox is faulty. That is provided the water level is reached and the water shuts off when the correct level is reached. If no belt the gearbox coulping is stripped. Does it spin?? if it does then the gearbox coupling is ok. Hope this helps.. Tony

modern furnaces produce water vapor.simple solution is a blast of air back up drain line, taking apart and cleaning lasts longer.if theres a u shape on drain line you might have to cut pipe out to clear blockage simply glue back together with a coulping

Spin cycle

Does it agitate?
Does it spin by hand?
Does it agitate if you advance the timer?

Could be the lid switch (#1).
Could be a broken motor/pump coupling.
Could be the timer.

Look under the washer for bits of black rubber (indicating the coupling insert has failed.

If the coupling is in place, next, bypass the lid switch temporarily to see if you can trick the unit to think the door is closed (safety mechanism)

if the lid switch is bypassed, the coupling is good, the timer is faulty.

All items in this answer can be found at and enter your model # in the box.

If you hear the motor trying to spin - the most common problem in this direct drive unit is the rubber coupling element and broken coupling teeth.

I have a whirlpool washer #LSR6333LQ0. 7yrs old. All is fine until spin cycle. Makes a grinding noise and tub does not spin.

Look under the machine for what look like pencil shavings that could indicate a worn out drive coulping. other than that you would be looking at apotential transmission problem.

GE washer spins slowly -Clothes still wet

Doesnt make any sense why the motor goes off and on. If I read your email correctly. some typos on your email. but, sounds like the belt is too big. Or the spring device that keeps the belt tight is not working properly. You need to make sure what ever it is that keeps that belt tight is working properly or not damaged. The belt is very important to making the spin work good. Match it up with your old belt. The old belt will be slightly longer because of being stretched over a period of time. Get your unit number and model number and go to your nearest dealer and get the correct belt.
