If you see mo dirt inside the cloth bag so it looks like the fill tube is in tact and yet it still stinks - Sometimes over the time outer cloth bag absorbs the smell and you have to wash it (or get the new one but washing it obviously is a lot cheaper alternative).
HERE you will find how to do it.

The dusty smell coming from my G4 finally drove me to search out the problem. As it turned out, the fill tube had cracked near the top of the mini emptor (the boot) and dust and crumbs were escaping from the tube and into the cloth bag. I tried to repair the split with duct tape and electrical tape, but to no avail. I finally gave up and ordered a new fill tube online for about $8. This took care of the problem, and the machine works like new with no more dusty smell.

I'm having aproblem with my kirby g5 vacume i'vereplaced the gaskets and i can still smell dust when i use it

Did you try vacuuming out the inside of the cloth bag? Or washing it? Many times the dirt makes its way out of the paper and back into the room through that cloth bag.

Hello can you help me please? I have a Kirby G4 vacuum cleaner, It did work ok until it started to give off burning smell and lots of sparks from the brushes. I have changed these brushes, the motor still...

Some debris, even sand or dirt, probably got into the motor, causing damage to the armature. If this is the case, you will need to replace the motor. The burning smell from the motor is generally a sure sign of a bad motor.

Smells like burning rubber when I turn on my G6 Kirby vacuum.

You must take of the plastic ends from the wood beater bar and make sure the metal axels are not wound up with hair. I did this monthly with 4daughters

Every so often I get a smell of burning from my g4 Kirby vacuum. I noticed it's when I'm vacuuming a fairly new rug on this house I clean. Should I be concerned?

If it is a smell of burning rubber - most likely your vacuum belt is overdue for replacement.

At this point - remove the brush roller, remove the old belt, clean off your brush roller and remove any string or hair that may be bound up around it (usually around where the belt goes or on the sides), and put on a new belt. Your Kirby should act good as new if your bag is replaced at the same time.

If the brush roller has too much string and hair wrapped around it, many times the brush roller will not spin as fast as the belt is driving it and you will get that burning smell.

I have a kirby g4 vacuum that is 12 years old. it sounds like

About once a month as I have German Shep dogs and cuz of the hair I check all the hoses to make sure they are free of dust bunnies. I also take the bottom plate off the roller, turn the lever to losen the belt and take the roller off. Clean/cut all the strings, hair etc off the roller , check the belt for cracks and burns and replace if need be. Put the roller cover back on, and reconnect the belt.

Then on the side of the machine where the bag attaches, this also slides out to clean. Sometimes heavier items will get stuck in there so that dog hair and larger items cannot pass to the bag and it clogs. This will make your suction very low.

Also a good check inside the bag compartment and clean with the attachment hose if need be, helps a great deal with ordor and dust when turned on. Especially if you have dogs/dander and hair. Ive also put carpet fresh inside my bag to keep the doggy ordor down.

G4 model is burning

May be the carbon brushes. DO NOT run the vacuum until you check them. If they are worn out, they can damage your armature and that is expensive to replace. Try my troubleshooting guide. It helps with do-it-yourself Kirby repairs. You'll also find links to directions and free repair guides!
