I'm using mac and when I try to print from Illustrator CS, a window which shows status and name of documents appears, says 'media out or not loaded correctly'. I saved the document and opened it with preview (application) then it print out fine. I found a person having almost same problem as I do in another website but couldn't find a solution. Is there any way to print straight out from CS?

I have the same problem. I am printing a custom size from InDesign CS3 to an Epson Stylus Photo R1800, and the only way I am able to print is by converting the file to a pdf, and printing that way.
As long as you convert to a pdf, there seem to be no issues! A workaround, but a pain in the ***.

How to repair illustrator file?Place the damaged Illustrator file in a new Illustrator file.
Important: This solution doesn't work if you didn't select Create Compatible PDF File in the Illustrator Native Format Options dialog box when you saved the original file. On the Macintosh platform, the damaged Illustrator file may appear dimmed in the Place dialog box, but you will still be able to select it and place it in the new Illustrator file.
In Illustrator, choose File > New.
Select the appropriate size and color mode, and then click OK.
Choose File > Place.
In the Place dialog box, choose All Formats from the Files of Type pop-up menu (Windows) or choose All Documents from the Show pop-up menu (Mac OS), choose the damaged file, and then click Place.

Double click on My Computer on your desktop and open C:>Documents and Settings > User >Application Data > Adobe > Adobe Illustrator CS2 Settings.
(Your version of Illustrator will be in the foldr name.) Inside this
folder is a file called AIPrefs. Drag this file to the trash, and
restart Illustrator. Reset any custom preferences you want, and when you
close Illustrator the preferences file will be regenerated.
You can also reset Illustrator's preferences by holding down Shift + Control + Alt
while launching the program. If you get a dialog asking if you want to
delete the Adobe Illustrator settings folder, click yes to proceed.

I had the same thing happen when I switched from os9 to osx. I had to install the programs, Quark, Illustrator, etc. then the icons appearance was normal. You may also have to actually open the program, then open the files themselves before the icons show as normal.
I had the same issue with 3 users and was able to solve it with a really easy fix. Set the dock to hide itself. I know it sounds weird, but there's a new print progress bar added to the CS3 icons, and that seems to be where the problem is caused. I'm assuming you have an Intel Mac?
