How to hook up becket oil furnace

On the top right hand side of the burner is the controller, on the right side ther are 4 contact screws, closest to the fire are the thermostate wires dosn,t matter which one goes where, two from thermostate go on these two contact screws. The two contact screws far away from the flame are for the two wires from the cad cell dosn't matter which one where. All that is left is 120 volt ac power which shouldn't be hard to see where they go.

Furnace stays on for 30 sec only then turns off continously/ does not reach the thermosts temp

Gas or Ele.? If its gas get a dollar bill an clean the flame sensor, and or it may need to be replaced. If the unit dosent sense the flame within 30 sec. or so it will shut down the gas valve. That would be my first check

When I release the ignition switch no matter how long hold it before releasing the flame goes out but the fan remains running fine. Is this a thermostate problem or another issue.

There is a flame sensor on these units that senses that the flame is lit....it can become defective over time...it should be right on the housing right where the flame comes out of the nozzle and should have 2 leads coming off it...you can contact the manufacturer to find where and who carries parts for your model.

Where was the 7in reading taken? Inlet or Manifold? With or without the burners running? You probably want to look at the manifold side and adjust the regulator in the valve to get pressure on the manifold side down based on the assumption your pressure is to high somewhere to get a 7-10" tall flame on the burners.

It could be a few things, dirty pilot assembly, dirty or bad flame sensor or a bad gas valve or loose wire on the gas valve. Watch the flame as it lights to see if all the burners light. If not you will need to clean the burners and flame tray that spreads the flame to all burners. Good luck!
