First take the control panel off, (panel that has the battery power display etc ) take care in doing to make sure you don't pull any wires off.
first check the wiring on the ignition switch, check the speed pot by moving it up and down,
Check the connections to the battery follow the wires from the battery to the Motor controller, normally marked B+, B-, then follow from the motor controller to the motor again checking the connections.
Make sure the freewheel lever stays in position

SOURCE: new batterys fitted from lucas

  • Well when the battery clicks like that it is an indication of either a loose connection of the battery has died.
  • First thing is to make sure that battery got a real good charge first before using the scooter. half a charge won't do much especially being new.
  • Now if some of the metal plating has come off of the connector it is possible the connection is not quite doing it at that point. Imagine how a car sounds when you try to start it and the battery clamp has come a tad loose... click click click click click.
  • In this case you need to try a new connector. You can try the place you got the gogo scooter from or this place sells many scooter parts
  • Make sure the fuse is good and check all wiring for a direct short. Make sure non of the insulation has been negated.
  • Get out a multi-meter and set it to DC and start testing the power feed wires for 12v DC power. Check the ground wire as well and make sure the polarity is 0. If the is polarity in the ground wire anywhere then there is a short somewhere for sure. Start at the connector and move down.
  • Make sure the battery charging unit/cables are functioning properly as well. If the charger is not charging properly it would be hard for the battery to perform properly.
  • Hope this helps and thanks you for using FixYa.

Regards, Tony

Five beeps? Maybe it's not the same as my Celebrity XL8 but my instruction manual talks of a 1+4 beep warning meaning low battery charge. It also suggests checking that the wiring harness connectors are all fully connected - that would include the battery terminals of course. If your hubby managed to do a wheelie this sounds a strong possibility if the batteries were dislodged. Anyway, I attach the page from my Celebrity XL8 manual, you can find other Celebrity manuals online. My congratulations to your husband, I've yet to master wheelies!

Celebrity XL8 not engaging then sticks in forward motion. Gives fault code of 4 beeps then 1. Code sequence not covered by manual.

hi Pete, okay there can be one of two reason for that fault.

1. check the motor wiring from the controller to the motor and if possible check the resistance of the motor by checking the brushes, if you have a smart meter disconnect the motor wires from the controller and take a resistance reading we looking at around 0.3 to 1 ohms.

2. Controller fault , i can test the controller for you free of charge , you simply pay the return postage..

Some units emit a flashing code. Check your manual to see if the flashes represent a fault code.

make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they are probably old and faulty ?

Next -- the Beep codes indicate a hardware problem --the PC was unable to POST(Power On Self Test-)-but DELL's beep codes closest to what you described is either 1-2-video card not detected or 1-3-1-1 which is Memory (RAM) error adn the PHEONIX beep code of 1-3-2 is Memory error also-- so be sure all cards and chips are seated properly--I dont think its the hardrive --a PC can still boot and POST without a hardrive.

Sounds like your motor brake is out. Usually the discolor on the brake indicates it has overheated.
