attach the supplied cable directly to the computer's USB port (don't use any other extension cord simultaneously). If that doesn't work, check if you've some problems with your USB driver.

Ok I got it. you need to go in to your windows media player on the right it will say sync or something of that nature. Add the songs you want on the playlist. name it and press sync on the bottom
