I have a 2002-2003 Mitsubishi WS 55511 1080HDTV, all of a sudden the remote doesn't want to function properly. Also, the picture goes black and the sound goes out then goes on and off quite often. There are times when the screen looks like a VCR picture that isn't tracking then goes black. Sometimes it will display "Check Connections or power. The connections for RGBHV or Y Pb Pr may be invalid." then the messages goes away. It does this with DVD player also, but the sound and picture go out, it too can look like a VCR picture with tracking problems. The TV is controlled by a Crestron WiFi remote. Sometimes the TV will not power off with the Crestron remote. Also, recently the Mitsu TV remote will not allow changes in devices or will not bring up the device menu. The batteries are new too and I have reset the TV also. I have DirectTV, no changes have been made to the unit or anything moved or unplugged. Any ideas of what might be the problem?
I've had this problem with other tvs and it was caused by the power supply board starting to go out. May want to call tech support to verify. Note that these board are very expensive unless you buy used.
Take the original Mitsubishi remote and remove the batteries. Install new fresh batteries and then try to operate the set. Do not try to use any of the inputs that are active. Just check menu funtions with the mits remote. All kinda irrational stuff happens when multiple and universal remotes get involved. If this a model remote that has a selector switch at the top for choosing tv/sat/vcr, etc make sure it's on tv.
