GE French Door Control Panel LEDs Off if Fan is on.
GE Refrig PFS22MISBWW Serial TH052892 The Green "LED" display panel that shows the ref and Freezer temperatures or set points goes blank whenever the fan motor in the bottom freezer comes on. The display works when the fan is off. It works during start-up when the compressor is on, but only until the fan starts. The fan doesn't seem to kick into high speed like it used to, and the fridge seems to be running more. Didn't find any obvious ice buildup. Temps seem to be OK.
Tried rebooting by unplugging it for a while, but no change. I saw a note on the web about a problem they had with the DC fan motor and circuit board that GE was fixing post warranty. Any help would be appreciated. It's less than 2 years old. Thanks,

This is a common problem with the GE Profile. In most cases this is caused by failure of the motherboard. If you would like a manual, part numbers and assistance on how to repair please let me know because the instructions are detailed and a lot to Wright if you are only wanting to know what is wrong. You can find a service manual by going here
ok u ok u turning wrong knob..turn other knob the one with the letters. make the freezer colder than u make ref. warmer. that knob controls a flap that controls how much cold air flows from the freezer to ref. ok
You will need to check the temperature sensor(s) and the damper. Is the temp display showing it is colder than the selected temp (recommend 37)?? If so it is likely the damper is broken, and it is open --- letting too much air come in from the freezer and getting colder than you set it.
Go into the diagnostic mode on your touch display .
1) . Press any button on the display 1 time except the temp adjust buttons.
2) Press the temp up and down on both the freezer AND refrig (all 4 at the same time)
3) when 0's show , release the buttons and press any button except for the temp adjust buttons .
4) NOW , fress the temp adjust buttons until the freezer side displays 0 and the refrig side displays 7 . 0 and 7 is for the thermistors test .
5) After 0 and 7 display , press any button again except temp adjust , and this will start the thermistor check .
6) You will have 7 thermistor tests , indicated on the refrig display , starting at 1 , then 2 then .......
7) The feezer display will tell for the corresponding thermistor , indicated by the refrig display , if the thermistor p = pass , s = short , b = bad (replace board)
After determining if or which thermistor is bad , then adjust the display to 1 on freezer display and 6 on the refrig display . This ends the testing procedure and resets the refrig back to normal .
i have a GE model PDS22SFSALSS & it did the same thing...blinking LED & clicking, then LED went blank. i read that GE was having major problems w/ the mother board, (cost for part $ 153.75 & $79.95 for service call, they couldn't tell me the labor cost!! )on many models & were re-calling some. i called GE repair 4/8/08, got no help, then i called customer service & gave them my model & serial #. they said my box would be fixed (mutha bd swapped) for free. i bought it 10/05, they came the next day & installed new board free! start w/ GE 1-800-432-2737 .....good luck [email protected]
Check to see if refrigerator door is lower than freezer door. If so remove toe panel, (bottom front). Under refrigerator door hinge at bottom right is adjuster for door. Adjust upward so door is even. On some models when door is too low it causes light to stay on some times, raising ref. temps.
