Your power supply is shorted; remove it from the set and, have a TV shop repair it if you are unable to do the repair yourself.
any good shop can do the repair easily and, much cheaper than the manufacturer you can find the power supply by looking to where the power cord enters a circuitboard that will be the power supply

I have a LG 70LB7100 TV and when I turn it on the screen turns on fully for 2 seconds then it goes just to backlight for 4 seconds then turns off. What do you think is the problem

Walter,

Strictly from what I'm reading it sounds to me that your PCB has failed, or is failing. You will need to either;

1) Find your specific PCB (There will be a model number on the board itself) and order a replacement online, then install it on your own.

2) If you are not comfortable repairing it on your own, contact a local electronic repair shop and describe the problem as you've described it here and they will be able to further assist you.

Attached you will find an image of a common PCB layout.

Hope this helps,
Best regards.

My Sansui HDPDP4200 42 inch Plasma stopped powering up. When I hit the power button (both on the TV or by the remote) the green light comes on for about 2 seconds then shuts off. I tried to turn it back on...

Plasma TV's are notorious for power supply problems, its most likely failing capacitors in the power supply. If you can find a repair shop i would take it in, otherwise you might also be able to find a replacement power supply board online, but its a crapshoot to find a good one so its better to try and repair/rebuild the one you have. If all else fails its just time for a new TV. It sucks, i know, but i see so many 2-3 year old TV's failing its like a plague of the repair shop.

I have a 1 1/2 year old Panasonic TC-P42U1 plasma tv. While watching a show, it suddenly shut off and won't come back on. What do you think caused this and how can i fix it? Thanks.

Try unplugging it completely for 30 seconds to 1 minute. Plug it back in. If it still won't come on, it's likely taken a power surge and popped a fuse or power supply, which means a trip to the service center.

My pioneer plasma TV shuts off by it's self only after a few seconds?

From what it sounds like here is your power supply unit may have some issues.

1. Take it to a repair shop if your not good at repairing this.
=======================================
If you are a tech:

1. check relay for clicks
2. check eletrolytic capacitors for buldging or holes.
3. Fets for voltages (req service manual or scematic)
4. Replace power supply.

Thanks I am sorry this was basic information but it was free and I would like if you please leave ratings and feedback on your free answer today/

My Zenith 50 in. tv won't come on, it went out yesterday. When you push the the power button, it flashes green for a few seconds then goes to the red off button.

it's your power supply that has gone. I had the same problem after owning my LG Z50PX2D for 2 months. The repair shop had it for 6 months. now I have the famous "POP & BLACK SCREEN SICKNESS" LG/Zenith should fix this.

If the repair shop says it is powerboard it means they already took a look at the TV and you dont need to worry about it.
If you have any doubt please post the sympton here (detailed) and I can tell you for sure what the TV needs.
